Transfer Talk on Tuesday 17th Aug - Dušan Vlahović
The man Fabio Paratici wants at Tottenham as the long term replacement for Harry Kane and the foil for him while he is here is Dušan Vlahović.
Make no mistake, he has been our #1 striker target this summer.
A report in Viola News (Viola is the Fiorentina nickname) claims Spurs have offered Vlahović a 5-year contract worth €5m-a-year post tax + bonuses, with a €2m signing on fee.
That is £81,800-a-week (€96,174 - US$113,278 - AUS$154,429) with a £1.7m (US$2.36m - AUS$3.21m) signing on fee.
Fiorentina are offering him €3m-a-year + €1m in bonuses and talks with his Italian club have stalled.
That is £49,075-a-week (€57,689 - US$67,984 - AUS$92,632) with a £850,416 (US$1.18m - AUS$1.61m) signing on fee.
There was a report in the very early hours of this morning that Tottenham's offer is €70m (£59.74m- US$82.25m - AUS$112.84m) for both Vlahović and Milenković.
It went on to say that Fiorentina want €70m for Vlahović and €15m (£12.8m- US$17.63m - AUS$24.22m) for Milenković.
The suggestion was that they thought they were possibly asking too much but I believe they agreed a €16m (£13.65m- US$18.81m - AUS$25.82m) fee for Milenković with West Ham before the deal fell through.
I am expecting Spurs to pay whatever it takes to get him myself, while still trying to keep the costs down.
I think Paratici has decided this guy is going to be a superstar striker, as have plenty around Europe and wants to snap him up while he is still relatively cheap.
Read the quote below.
That is the sort of mentality I want to hear, that's a winning mentality, the desire to improve off the field and then put it into practice on the field.
Not simply going onto a football field to try and win, that isn't a winning mentality.
Do that and you end up playing like Dele and you stop doing the little things and your game goes downhill.
The Serbian spoke to SCF Fiorentina:
“Generally speaking, I dedicate a lot of time to football. After group training I have individual training, then gym, then I focus on recovering. Recovery is just as important as training. I spend a lot of time on my body because I want to get 100% out of it. I’ve never been interested in drinking or smoking, for example, so it’s not an issue for me not to do those things.
“I want the maximum from my body, so I have to treat it in such a way that allows it to perform at its best."
“It’s on the pitch that you see the nature of the group. How we push each other, how we help each other, clapping your team-mate, having that word in their ear... You can see that on the pitch.
“You need to be good at reading people in football. It’s important to realise who sticks with you during the tough times and who is only there for you when things are going well.“The past counts for nothing in football – the only thing that matters is what’s to come.“Otherwise, you get caught up in the negativity and you’ll never get out."
This is a guy we want at Tottenham, his mentality has all the hallmarks of another Harry Kane.
Well that's it folks.
