Transfer Talk on Friday 13th Aug
Welcome my growing band of THFC followers, in love with the girl of your dreams (or guy) but she keeps slipping from the class and quality you know she possesses.
From quality stock, showing her class in Europe and domestically, she slipped onto hard times and is on the rise again.
While a certain section who profess to love her try to drag her down to their level again, she is determined to climb back to her former grandeur.
She is buying herself some sexy new clothes, having done her best to be appealing when forced to shop at Primark.
Whilst she couldn't afford Harrods, she aspired to John Lewis, but wherever she shopped she always tried to look her sexy best.
With her hard work coming to fruition, despite dark economic times, she has embraced her personal shopper, a proven clothing expert reshaping her wardrobe to present to you a sexy new image.
Out have gone the pragmatic tight, in have come the sexy new stockings and suspenders with a flash of thigh at the top.
When the shops shut on 31st August and she has her new high heels and wardrobe with old and new, she will be hoping for compliments for all the hard work she has put in to look good for you, for herself.
She will march out confident so don't knock her and kill her confidence right at the beginning, love her, be happy and support her along her path.
A love affair where you try to change her, where you fight is never successful. You should either change your ways or let her go, she needs her adoring crowd, but she also needs her rock, she needs to know you will always be there for her, always support her, but let her be her.
Corentin Tolisso
Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal are all interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, according to German publication Bild.
According to sources in the UK, Manchester United have no interest in him at all so this might be an agent generating interest in his client as Bayern Munich apparently want to sell the 27-year-old (28 next August) quickly.
They want to use the money to sign 27-year-old (28 next March) Austrian international (54 caps, 8 goals, 8 assists) Marcel Sabitzer from fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
They suggest the French international (28 caps, 2 goals, 3 assists) central midfielder would cost just €10m (£8.47m - US$11.74m - AUS$15.92m) with only a year left on his contract.
Tolisso's current salary is €7m (£5.93m - US$8.22m - AUS$11.14m) which equates to €134,615-a-week (£113,968 - US$157,990 - AUS$214,294).
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Tottenham will make an €18m (£15.23m - US$21.14m - AUS$28.64m) offer for young Rubin Kazan left winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. His arrival would allow Steven Bergwijn to leave, having seen Lamela leave with Gil coming in.
We don't need four left-sided attacking players in the squad, Gil, Bergwijn, Son, Kvaratskhelia.
It sounds as though this is a deal that will be lined up but one that may not be triggered.
His agent says their is 'serious interest' from Spurs but from what I hear Ajax are favourites to secure his signature.
Eric Dier
Tottenham are open to offers for England international Eric Dier, whose salary I have seen suggested as £72,000-a-week and another suggestion of £92,000-a-week.
That makes the 27-year-old (28 next January) a bit rich for most Premier League clubs.
It is World Cup year next summer and if he wants to force his way back into the squad or team, then he needs to be playing every week and that will mean taking a pay cut.
He likes Spurs and certainly plays with passion for the badge, unfortunately his season went a bit pear shaped after a promising start when he was paired with Dávinson Sánchez in the New Year.
With several clubs interested in 29-year-old (30 next August) centre-back Jannik Vestergaard, who earns £60,000-a-week, and reports of a Leicester City bid being accepted, Southampton are looking at replacements.
Dier is not homegrown, despite being Englaish, he was brought up and learnt his football in Portugal, so wouldn't affect homegrown numbers.
Sander Berge
Earlier in this window I told you we were looking at Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, or to pronounce it correctly, Zander Bur-gay.
The 23-year-old (24 next February) Norway international (24 caps, 1goal, 1assist) defensive midfielder was relegated last season and he has a £25m (€29.52m - US$34.67m - AUS$47.01m) release clause in his contract.
Albert Stuivenberg, assistant to Mikel Arteta, is an old acquaintance of the Norwegian having worked with him at Genk from 2016 to 2017.
“He is already very mature. He is intelligent, reads the game well, and takes the initiative. He has the potential to become a future leader.”
Sheffield United want to keep him nut Berge doesn't want to play Championship football so personal terms are not expected to be an issue for suitors.
Paratici has submitted an offer of £16.83m (€20m - US$23.48m - AUS$31.35m) and I believe he might be willing to rise incrementally to £22.02 (€26m - US$30.53m - AUS$41.4m) eventually.
Spurs have agreed personal terms with Berge so it's a question of getting the best value deal and then deciding which deals is the best for us amongst all the candidates.
As you know, we have several defensive midfielders we are discussing deals with, Corentin Tolisso, João Palhinha, Denis Zakaria, Manuel Locatelli, Marcelo Borozović for instance.
Samuel Umtiti
Samuel Umtiti was booed by Barcelona fans in their pre-season friendly against Juventus on Sunday and has apparently accepted that perhaps it is best to move on.
Barcelona want him off the books, but previously he didn't want to leave.
Whether that will ignite our previous interest in the 27-year-old (28 in November) centre-back, I don't know yet.
Stefan de Vrij
Stefen de Vrig is another centre-back we have been following and made an enquiry for earlier in the window.
Paratici sounded him out about coming to Tottenham at the same time that he spoke to Marcelo Brozović, both of financially troubled Serie A title winners Inter Milan.
Now, whilst Umtiti and de Vrij are on our radar, we are still hoping to get either Frenchman, Jules Koundé (Sevilla) or Maxence Lacroix (Wolfsburg).
Harry Kane
Tonight Matthew, I am going to be Gareth bale.
Harry Kane does not want to play for Spurs.
It has been all change, Nuno wants him gone and Paratici wants the money to bring in more quality replacements.
He does not want to be a part of any naming rights, he does not want to play on Saturday.
He is doing all he can to force a move and had a bust up at training today.
Naturally the players, who haven't been impressed with him refusing to train for a week, are equally unimpressed with his current attitude.
He doesn't even want to train with us, let alone play. Whatever we offer he refuses, he simply wants to go.
City are upping their bid with plenty of add-ons which will take the figure above £150m and appreciate we want cash, not players.
This will have to be done within the next week so we can sign a replacement or replacements.
Time to say goodbye to him.
Well that's it folks.
