Tottenham Talk on Wednesday 18th Aug on Nahitan Nández
Morning folks, a quick change of post this morning so there will be a second post at 17:00 hrs (5pm) GMT with the days round up.
I have rushed this one out because of a report in Italy that I have seen misinterpreted on Twitter already.
Spurs have verbally agreed a fee for central midfielder Nahitan Nández.
Uruguayans come from poor backgrounds so football is a way of providing not only for them, but for their families as well and as such they seem to have the drive and run all day attitude common amongst South American footballers.
At least that is my impression so I'm keen to see him at The Lane in a Spurs shirt.
Nahitan Nández
A report from Italy in Centotrentuno, which is a Cagliari based news outlet, suggests Tottenham have unofficially offered an initial loan with an obligation to buy for Nahitan Nández. The terms of the deal, a €10m (£8.53m - US$11.71m - AUS$16.15m) loan fee with a transfer fee of between €15-20m (£12.79m to £17.05m - US$17.571m to $23.42m - AUS$24.22m to $32.3m).
That is the amount Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini is said to be looking for. and Fabio Paratici has agreed to pay.
The agent of the 25-year-old (26 in December) Uruguayan international midfielder said on 22nd June that his client wanted to play in the Premier League in response to a question about links to Leeds United.
“Our desire is to play in England, we believe in the Premier League as our first option. It's his kind of football.“
The report goes on to say that despite other reports to the contrary, Nández would like to join Tottenham and Cagliari are simply waiting for a formal offer.
They have to pay Boca Juniors 15% of the profit from a sale, thus an initial loan gives the Italians a fee and reduces the sale value hence reducing the amount of profit and the amount they have to pay the Argentinian side.
Cagliari need the money so this is a good deal for them and will allow them to keep experienced Uruguayan centre-back Diego Godin so they are keen to get the deal finalised with Spurs as soon as possible.

For crosses into the penalty area he was 4th in Serie A last season and he came 5th for the number of presses, 625.
He gets back quickly if his side lose the ball and tactically he is a very organized player, who has good vision.
He uses his bogy well to defend a ball and in aggressive in his defending with strong, powerful tackles while still taking the ball cleanly, in other words without giving away unnecessary free-kicks.Nández sounds like a hard working midfielder that would add to our squad.
