Tottenham Talk on Tuesday 31st Aug
Fans all summer have been complaining, we sit top of the Premier League yet some are complaining.
Why get yourself stuck in a life of despair, it doesn't make any sense.
Focus on what you can control, not what you can't.
One leads to a happy life, one to a miserable life.
One to a successful life, one to an unsuccessful life.
Leaders, winners, the successful, look forward, not back.
If a game is lost there is nothing you can do about it, wallowing in it doesn't win the next game, move on, focus on what you can influence.
Proverb, the past is a thief – it steals the present and the future from us.
Think about that in relation to our fans.
One of the most powerful weapons of a football leader or any leader is optimism.
"I am optimistic in life. It is very important – especially in football. I prefer to wake up in the morning and think about the good things and the sunshine – to wake up with a smile. I think sometimes people create problems, but for nothing."Carlo Ancelotti
If you face the future with fear you won't overcome the challenges in front of you, you'll succumb to them.
"I always say a defeat must not be a start of a period; it must be just the end of a great period. So when the defeat comes you cannot think this is the first of some, but just the end of a period of victories and good moments."José Mourinho
A leader doesn’t catastrophize as Psychologists call it, they don't dwell on the hypothetical what could have been, they doesn’t bemoan their fate, that would drag them down.
They look forward to what they can control. they bounce back.
Think about that.
Well as ever, a good morning to you all on another happy day and welcome to Tottenham Talk on Tuesday 31st Aug
Tottenham Transfer Talk
Hugo Lloris
Barcelona are said to be watching the situation of French international goalkeeper and Spurs captain, Hugo Lloris very closely.
They are said to be interested in taking him as a free agent next season, which wouldn't be a great issue for Spurs as we have already bought his replacement, 26-year-old (27 next March) Pierluigi Gollini.
I for one am expecting him to take over whether 34-year-old (35 in December) Lloris is still at Spurs or not.
Yves Bissouma
One of my Twitter followers has advised me that Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to cash in on Yves Bissouma next summer.
I haven't looked into our interest in the 25-year-old (26 next August) central-midfielder, but if that is their plan then a cheap sale on the last day of the window would surely not be in their best interests.
I'll just wait and see what happens with this one.
Serge Aurier
The latest possible destination for Serge Aurier is Italian Serie A side Genoa on loan for the season.
Talks are at an early stage but could progress fast or could go nowhere.
Fabio Paratici
We've moved Rose, Hart, Alderweireld, Sissoko, Lamela, Gazzaniga, and Foyth on, so far. We've brought in a top centre-back in Romero, a ready-made Lloris replacement in Gollini, and two hugely promising young players in Gil and Sarr.
We are top of the league, the only club with a perfect three wins from three start and still the agenda driven anti-Levy kiddies want to moan.
We hit the height getting to a Champions League Final but apparently that had nothing to do with Daniel Levy and was entirely luck!
Hypocrites these people, he is responsible for both ups and downs.
The overall picture is up as any common sense sensible individual knows.
The structure now is Paratici deals with transfers and negotiations, apart from Kane, all that happens is his responsibility now.
Why is he and Hitchen now sitting on the sidelines at matches now?
Because that's how it is done in Italy, he is near the coach, it develops a relationship, an understanding, improves communication between the two, it's not a them and us situation.
That allows Paratici to more fully understand what the coach needs to improve the team and then it's his role to find the players to make that happen.
Twitter on Monday is all about stupid idiots complaining, like these guys:
Emerson
Tottenham are looking to get this one across the line today because Barcelona have a desperate need to sell.
They don't really want to sell, head coach Ronald Koeman doesn't want to sell, Emerson himself doesn't want to leave, but Barcelona need the money and that is driving the sale.
A Brazilian international right-back, the 22-year-old (23 next January) is 90% right-footed and was bought back by Barcelona after selling him to Real Betis.
However the buy-back was not simple.
Apparently, Barcelona and Real Betis bought the player jointly, Barcelona own 50% of player rights, with option to buy further 30%.
His sale helps two clubs and clubs in Spain are all in financial difficulty.
He completed 90.1% (840/932) of his short passes, 83.7% (577/689) of his medium passes and 53.6% (113/211) of his long passes last season.
He made 31 passes that directly led to a shot and 83 passes in the final third, completing 42 passes into the penalty box excluding free-kicks.
He completed 15 crosses successfully.
Emerson made 64 shot creating actions through passing, dribbling or drawing fouls, an average of 1.93 per 90 minutes.
163 tackles and interceptions, 116 clearances and made 1 error leading to an opponents shot.
Bringing him in must surely mean we have a deal in place to sell one of our right-backs and considering Aurier hasn't figured at all in pre-season or the actual season, then one assumes it must be him.
Well that's it folks.
