Tottenham Talk Saturday 17th

Dávinson-Sánchez

Well hello once again and are we all looking forward to a heat wave?

I guess their will be a wave of euphoria among our fans when a sale is made or a purchase made, myself, I just remain calm as I can't affect the process, it's out of my hands.

Anyway in Tottenham Talk Saturday 17th we will begin by looking at when players will return to training and at some Tottenham Transfer news about purchases and sales.

But before that, off the pitch, Dele Alli has invested in a Vegan meat company.

The company is Next Gen Foods and the growing Singapore plant-based chicken brand that Dele is investing in is Tindle.

Next Gen Foods have fast expansion plans and are looking to break into the US $1.4 billion vegan food market.

They serve some 70 restaurants in Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau at the moment.

Tindle emits 88% fewer greenhouse gases, uses 74% less land, and requires 82% less water than conventional chicken.

Dele started a property company Future Homes Investments Ltd in 2016, backs British eSports (competitive gaming) franchise Excel.

Anyway enough of the off-field stuff you're not reading anywhere else and onto the football.

When will Spurs internationals return to training?

I reported a while ago that Spurs international would report for training on July 23rd at the earliest. Well here is the list.

  • Hugo Lloris - July 23
  • Moussa Sissoko - July 23
  • Joe Rodon - July 23
  • Ben Davies - July 23
  • Toby Alderweireld - July 25
  • Pierre-Emile Højbjerg - July 28
  • Harry Kane - August 2
  • Giovanni Lo Celso - August 2
  • Dávinson Sánchez - August 2

They can return earlier if they wish and Dávinson Sánchez indicated initially he would.

Houssem Aouar

Another journalist, who works in England, France and the USA has confirmed that Tottenham are genuinely interested in Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar.

The 23-year-old (24 next June) is reportedly available for a cut price €20m (£17.07m - US$23.63m - AUS$31.76m) but from what I hear that isn't correct, sounds like more lazy journalism to me.

That is the figure Arsenal have offered, described in some quarters as a low-ball offer, Spurs fans take note!

I believe Lyon are actually asking for offers around €25m (£21.37m - US$29.51m - AUS$39.73m).

French outlet Le10 Sport reports that while Head Coach Peter Bosz would love to keep his star midfielder, Lyon cannot afford to turn down a suitable offer.

Manchester United and Liverpool are both tracking his situation too.

Dávinson Sánchez

Having told you that Colombian centre-back Dávinson Sánchez wants to leave, despite incorrect reports from journalists (The Athletic making stuff up again I think, suggesting Nuno wanted to make an assessment next week after watching him at the Copa America) here is the confirmation.

The Fernando Villarreal and Fernando Schena agency look after Sánchez and the individual who handles, Dávinson SánchezNéstor Villarreal, has spoken to Colombian news outlet Gol Caracol.

"Dávinson and Duván [Zapata] we are working on some things, on the lookout and looking to see if something comes. However, it must be said that the two are calm where they are at Tottenham and Atalanta.

"They have a contract, if something better comes or more important, they will leave or else they will stay. They are without a problem there."

Dávinson is OK at Spurs is the best way to describe it, he isn't overly happy and would prefer a move away to get regular football.

Mentally he can't seem to handle rotation so his form suffers, mistakes occur and fellow defenders trust disappears, which causes them to make mistakes as they try to do their own job and cover for him as well.

Nuno Espirito Santo

I keep stressing mentality is more important then skill and what  does Nuno talk about as his pre-season?

Fitness and mentality.

"Now we are focused on many aspects of the game. We have to be really careful on how we prepare for how we want to play.

"Now we have to prepare the players in terms of fitness, in terms of mentality, the focus, then we'll put our ideas together.

"Now, it's about preparing them for to being able to do, whatever situations, to become fast, to become stronger, competitive, intense in every action, then we'll come to the moment to deliver our idea of how we're going to play the lines of the ball, how we're going to defend, but we have to be organized that's the main point."

Did you notice he said his job is on the training field, it's down to Paratici and Hitchen to build the squad.

That's the new structure and you have heard it from someone other than me, you have heard it from the head coach himself.
