Tottenham Talk on Friday 16th
The Athletic have been up to their dishonesty again claiming 'multiple sources' have told them Harry Kane is desperate to leave Tottenham, which isn't true by the way.
The Athletic is basically the online version of the Sun, an untrustworthy trash paper they expect you to pay for.
Harry Kane himself has only recently had his interview with Gary Neville published.
"For me, I don’t want to come to my career and have any regrets. I want to be the best I can be. I’ve said before I’d never say I’d stay at Spurs the rest of my career, I’d never say that I’d leave Spurs."I’m at that stage where… people might look at is as though you know “he’s desperate for trophies, I need trophies”… I still feel like I’ve got almost another career to play, I’ve got 7-8 years past what I’ve already had in the Premier League.
"I’m not rushing anything, I’m not desperate for anything. But I just want to be the best version of me I can be."I’ve got so much more to give, I can be even better than what I’ve been, I can produce better numbers than what I’m producing at the moment."I’m not afraid to say that I want to be the best."
Harry Kane will not force an exit from Spurs, that's not a part of his makeup and Spurs will not even entertain negotiation unless £200m is hit and even then the club would want to keep him for another year because if Nuno gets us back into the Champions League and challenging or winning a trophy, Kane could stay longer.
It doesn't take a genius to work that one out.
I don't year the anti-Levy crowd praising him for keeping Kane, ever!
Franck Kessié
I told you that Franck Kessié was probably using us and other clubs to get a better contract at AC Milan and their Technical Director, Paulo Maldini, is in no doubt he'll be staying.
“Franck Kessié will stay as he’s part of our future, we’re working to extend his contract."From the outset I gave this one no hope and that remains firmly the case with me.
Real Madrid
Spanish giants Real Madrid have announced €300m (£256.62m - US$355.49m - AUS$475.47m) of lost income due to the pandemic.
The outline for recovery they have published includes cutting salary costs and ought to show even the silliest Spurs fan that the pandemic HAS had a major financial impact on clubs, football and the transfer market.
"The recovery from the situation brought by the pandemic will not be immediate. As a result, the club will continue in its efforts to limit spending as has been done until now."
That is one of the top clubs in the world, regularly first or second with Barcelona when it comes to income.
Those two clubs used to get the lions share of TV money as they are the clubs people want to watch, hence clubs in the Premier League wanting to move to that TV and broadcasting distribution method.
And yet a section of our fans seem to think nothing has happened and expect a ridiculous and fantasist high spend.
A Norfolk Village Idiots Convention takes place in Downham Market each year and believe it or not, villages advertise for a village idiot for the holiday season.
Who said there weren't enough jobs to go around for these people!
Tottenham are once again, unsurprisingly, being linked with 28-year-old (29 next February) Wolves centre-back Conor Coady.
Conor Coady ranked 8th in Europe (top 5 leagues) for long passes completed last season, so the role of centre-backs in Nuno Espirito Santo's systems requires a very particular type of player.
"The club are one of very few big European clubs to have not incurred losses over the last two years," Real Madrid wrote."According to a UEFA study, the operating losses accumulated by European clubs between 2019/20 and 2020/21 will be close to six billion euros."

Conor Coady
Alderweireld and Dier play long balls successfully, Sanchez doesn't.
The England assistant manager Steve Holland said during the European Championships:
"My player of the tournament so far is Conor Coady. He's not got on the pitch yet but on the training pitch he gives everything, in the dressing room before the game he speaks like he's captain."
Spurs have discussed Conor Coady, as you would expect with an ex-Wolves manager as the new Head Coach, but have also discussed Leander Dendoncker.
The 26-year-old (27 next April) Belgian international (20 caps, 1 assist) defensive midfielder is under contract until 2023 with the club holding a years extension option.
Dušan Vlahović
They go on to say that Fiorentina are hoping to receive €60m (£51.34m - US$71.08m - AUS$95.13m) for the 21-year-old (22 next January) Serbian international.
Vlahović wants to stay at the Italian side feeling that would be best for his development, at least for another season.
Érik Lamela
The stories surrounding Argentinian international (25 caps, 3 goals, 2 assists) winger Érik Lamela have started.
The 29-year-old (30 next March) is under contract until 2022 so has entered the last year of his contract and is obviously therefore, up for sale.
No point letting a player go for free when you can get a small fee for them, common sense.
Italian Serie A side Fiorentina, based in Florence, Tuscany (see graphic below) have been following him and will be able to pick him up cheaply.
Spurs are asking for a figure around €10m (£8.53m - US$11.82m - AUS$15.88m).
Serge Aurier
Serge Aurier is still expected to sign for PSG as backup to 22-year-old (23 in November) Achraf Hakimi.
The 28-year-old (29 in December) right-back has entered the final year of his contract.
Spurs are asking for a figure around €20m (£17.07m - US$23.63m - AUS$31.76m) for the Ivory Coast captain.
Tammy Abraham
Matt Law, who is one of just a couple of journalists who do actually have contacts at Spurs, has revealed that Chelsea have offered Tottenham striker Tammy Abraham.
Now if you listen to some silly fans, clubs like Chelsea don't want to deal with us, utter nonsense of course, if we had a player they want, they would try and buy them.
Business don't cut off their nose to spite their face, these are mature grown adults, not immature 20/30-year-olds.
No doubt they have suggested cash plus Abraham for Kane, although he has been offered to Borussia Dortmund (Chelsea want Erling Haaland) and Inter Milan (Romelu Lukaku).
Asking price £40m (€46.92m - US$55.43m - AUS$74.48m).
Elliot Thorpe
The 20-year-old (21 in November) was given a shock call-up to the Wales squad for the European Championships and has now undergoing and passed a medical with the German club.
He turned down a contract offer from Tottenham who were moving him up to the U-23's this season, however, it would seem the player feels he'll get first team football quicker in Germany.
Not the first to take that view and won't be the last. Jadon Sancho is proof that it works.
Dani Olmo
Did you all watch Dani Olmo for Spain at the European Championships?
Do you remember the name?
He is the guy we were looking at 2 years ago and when his name was mentioned, Spurs fans said who, we don't want him, it must be a mistake.
No it wasn't, Spurs were chasing the best young talent, OK none signed, but we were chasing them.
The 23-year-old (24 next May) is now at RB Leipzig in Germany. He has 16 international caps, has scored 3 goals and had 4 assists.
He joined Leipzig from Dinamo Zagreb last January for £19.8m.
In 44 Bundesliga games, the attacking midfielder has scored 8 goals and had 11 assists.
His total record for Leipzig is played 61 games, scored 12 goals and had 13 assists.
