Tottenham Transfer Talk

Houssem Aouar

It is being reported by the Mirror, that Fabio Paratici has suggested Houssem Aouar to Daniel Levy.

Did either of them phone the Mirror to tell them, no, so this is a pure guess to create a story that they can now quote us as being linked to.

Who is he, you may well ask.

Aouar is a 22-year-old (23 on 30th June) French international (1 cap) central midfielder under contract with Lyon until 2023.

Steve Hitchen is an expert on French football so if anyone has suggested him you would have thought it was Hitchen and that we have been following for a while.

Paratici might also be a fan but it is unlikely that we were not already scouting him.

He played a friendly international against Ukraine and had two assists in the 59 minutes he played as an attacking midfielder before being substituted off with the score 4-1.

France went on to win 7-1.

Aouar assisted in the third goal after 34 minutes and took the corner that resulted in an own-goal for the fourth after 40 minutes.

Antoine Grizemann replaced him.

Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are said to be following him.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas isn't a man to listen to. He was telling the media nothing had been agreed for Tangay Ndombele yet a few of us knew the fee had already been agreed and I indeed quoted it months before he signed.

We had to wait for them to get a replacement and agree a fee, now they need to raise money, as they do every summer, to break even.

I hear Lyon have set a transfer fee of 22m (£18.92m - US$26.26m - AUS$34.60m) on him and that he'll accept a wage of €6m which equates to £99,250-a-week.

Seems a bit high to me for what he has achieved and in the current football financial climate.

Dušan Vlahović

There is a report in Serbia, Sport Klub, suggesting that Tottenham have made a bid for 21-year-old (22 next February) striker Dušan Vlahović.

The Serbian international (7 caps, 2 goals, 1 assist) plays for Fiorentina in Serie A who are keen to keep him and are willing to treble his current wages after a successful season.

Former Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino told Tuttosport that "Vlahovic could be the main striker for Juventus, Liverpool or Tottenham."

As reported by FirenzeViola.it, Gigliati chairman, Rocco Commisso, stated: "Why must I repeat it every time? We clearly want to keep Dušan in, and meet his demands.

"However, we must agree on all of that with both Dušan himself and his agent".

Saša Kalajdžić

According to German newspapers Bild, TM and Kicker, Tottenham have made an inquiry for Austrian international (11 caps, 4 goals) striker Saša Kalajdžić.

The 23-year-old (24 in July) is also being tracked by Juventus, AS Roma, AC Milan, Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Everton, Newcastle United, and West Ham United.

Joaquín Correa

As reported before, Tottenham are interested in Argentinian winger Joaquín Correa.

Lazio would like to sign both attacking midfielder Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund and Felipe Anderson from West Ham and, therefore, need to sell Correa to make room and to raise transfer funds.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei, (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) the Biancocelesti’s preferred front three is Anderson-Ciro Immobile-Brandt, with Sarri hoping the club can build this before the start of the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

That gives an advantage to the buying side if time is at a premium and a reduced fee may be possible.

The player, of course, can take his time to see what offers appear, he doesn't have to sign for anyone quickly.

Felipe Anderson is available for a bargain €8m (£6.86m - US$9.52m - AUS$12.60m) and is happy to take a lower salary to return to Italy.

PSG and Arsenal are both interested in the 26-year-old (27 in August) who is available on a loan to buy basis or outright sale for €25m-30m.

New Manager Search

You have to laugh at the press but the gullible and the anti-Levy anti-ENIC anti-Spurs element lap it all up.

Graham Potter turned Tottenham down, he didn't want an interview, he has full control of transfers at Brighton and was happy to stay where he was.

Now anyone who knows anything about comfort zones can appreciate that, he has a safe secure job and moving throws uncertainty and danger into the equation.

Graham Potter therefore hasn't been interviewed for our vacant post and will not be interviewed.

The press, however, have invented renewed interest, made up and thrown-in that Brighton want compensation (which they would so an easy guess) to create a fake news story they can then write about.

And out comes pieces that Spurs won't pay the compensation specifically to lump coals on the fires of the anti-ENIC anti-Levy anti-Spurs element.

It is a fake news story they can keep referring to and our anti element will keep beating us with it.

Suggesting Potter is "holding out for a big job" is complete bullshit, none of the clubs like Manchester City are going to employ a manager who has not been there and done it, particularly one who has no connection for the fans to latch onto at any of the clubs.

It's fantasy, but that's the mentality of journalists these days, they simply don't understand the sport they are actually writing about and that's because they are professional writers, not football experts, for which they have no qualifications.

Steven Gerard's name is doing the rounds.

He is an interesting candidate as an up and coming manager, currently at a huge club in a small league, the Scottish Premiership.

While the football isn't Premier League level, he has done extremely well there and he is at a club where every little detail is scrutinized by media and fans.

The expectation is huge and not all managers can handle that sort of pressure, but Gerrard has handled it extremely well.

We have spoken to him and will be speaking to him again, by which you can ascertain that he is interested.

I see Mourinho, agent Jorge Mendes, is buying a new goalkeeper for Roma, a Jorge Mendes player!

Some fans will therefore lap up the news that Nuno Espírito Santo has entered talks with Fenerbahçe.

The Sun are repeating the line that PSG still want to secure either Zinidine Zidane or Didier Deschamps after the Euros and that Mauricio Pochettino would then be free to join Tottenham.

If Spurs know that and are waiting to see if that comes to fruition, then you could understand the delay.

The Spurs board will know the situation, but we don't, still, our fans will condemn us for it, even though they are in the dark themselves.

But as I said in a previous article, it is quite normal to interview several candidates, it doesn't mean, as the idiotic journalists seem to believe, that you are offering every one of them the job.

Thus, if you are not offered a job, you can't turn it down or talks haven't fallen through.

Why do fans fall for it, are they brain dead or does it just suit their agenda to lap up the crap journalists spout.
