Fabio Paratici and Transfer Talk

Fabio Paratici already works on transfer ahead of his official appointment as Director of Football at Tottenham Hotspur according to the Daily Mail.

Incidentally, as I understand it, Paratici will be signing a 3-year deal.

In rather a poorly conceived article they make this claim to justify suggesting centre-back Milan Škriniar and perennially linked Ivan Perišić, as well as Christian Eriksen.

It all smacks of pure guesswork.

Rumours coming from Turin have Tottenham interested in 34-year-old centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, who is vice-captain of Juventus and Italy. The suggestion is that Juventus want to remove his salary from their books.

Also from Italy is the suggestion that Paratici wants to bring 21-year-old (22 next April) Swedish international right winger Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

He was in the starting XI 50% of the time in Serie A last season, playing 56% of the minutes available and recording a goal participation figure of 9%.

In total he made 35 Serie A appearances, played 1,918 minutes, scored 4 goals, had 3 assists and 7 yellow cards.

He started 19 games and came on as a sub in 16 games. His contract at Juventus runs until 2025 and Manchester United made enquiries about him in April that were rebuffed.

Over the season he appeared in 47 games, played 2,738 minutes, scored 7 goals, had 7 assists and 8 yellow cards.

He started 3 UEFA Champions League games after being in 8 squads.

Kim Min-Jae

Juventus meanwhile are looking at Kim Min-Jae and sending him out on loan to Sassuolo.

Kim Min-Jae is the centre-back playing in China for Beijing Guoan that Spurs were in negotiations to sign that our supporters found underwhelming.

According to Sic Noticias, the deal is already done.

Daichi Kamada and Evan N'Dicka

There was a report from German paper Sport Bild in May suggesting Tottenham want to sign Eintracht Frankfurt duo Daichi Kamada and Evan N'Dicka.

Japanese international attacking midfielder Kamada is valued around €30million and wants to leave the German club this summer.

The 24-year-old (25 in August) has turned down an offer from Watford and the renowned Monchi at Sevilla is also interested in him.

Evan N'Dicka is a 21-year-old (22 in August) French Under-21 centre-back that Transfermarkt value at £25.2 million.

He stands 6' 4", is left-footed, is very comfortable on the ball and has the pace to keep fast forwards in check.

We haven't yet replaced Jan Vertonghen with a left-footed centre-back, something I believe to be essential as it allows them to make interceptions facing goal with their natural foot.

It also allows playing out from the back with long diagonal balls easier as you don't have to move your body around the ball and telegraph the pass.

N'Dicka plays in a back three and can also play at left-back, so again similar to Jan Vertonghen.

What is being said about N'Dicka?

"I honestly have to say that I was surprised by his development. Evan has developed phenomenally. He's very attentive in the analysis of his own game. He's very modest and always takes a lot on board." – Frankfurt head coach Adi Hütter

"He was thrown in at the deep end and swam himself through. He shows no nerves and plays with great authority." – former Frankfurt star Alexander Schur

"From nothing, comes nothing. If you want to achieve something, you have to invest something. You have to make sacrifices - like everything in life if you want to get ahead." – Evan N'Dicka

Jonas Hofmann

Moving on but staying in Germany, Borussia Monchengladbach are ready to listen to offers starting at €40 million for Jonas Hofmann, according to sporting director Max Eberl.

Hofmann has been linked with Spurs, Leicester City and Atlético Madrid recently with figures of €15 million mentioned but as is normal, the club not willing to sell throws a high price into the ring.

All standard negotiating tactics we see time and time again.

Hofmann is 28 (29 in July) German international right winger that Transfermarkt value at £14.4 million.

He started 62% of games in the German Bundesliga, played 60% of the minutes and achieved a 26% goal participation figure.

It is generally thought that Atlético Madrid, who have made an inquiry, are favourites for his signature.

Jerome Boateng

Tottenham, AS Monaco and Roma linked Jerome Boateng says he has a 'clear idea' of where he wants to go after his release by German giants Bayern Munich.

The 32-year-old (33 in September) recently spoke with German magazine Kicker.

"I don't know where I will go yet, but I have a clear idea in my head.

"I've had a great season and didn't miss a single game through injury. With the shape I'm in, I can definitely play at the top level for another two or three years.

"After that, you can always go somewhere where the demands aren't as high. If it becomes a struggle at some point, I'll stop playing."

Does he therefore want UEFA Champions League football or does a few seasons in the Premier League appeal?

Who will be Spurs next manager?

Let's throw another name at the vacant managers post, a manager I can tell you Tottenham have been taking a note of and following, 38-year-old Edin Terzić.

If the reports from the Kölner Stadt-Anzeige and Germany's Bild-Zeitung are to be believed, Edin Terzic finds the idea of moving to a direct Bundesliga competitor to be either too stressful or an illogical career move.

Terzić, who completed his UEFA Pro Licence in England, has been the interim head coach at Borussia Dortmund where his preferred formation has been 4-2-3-1.

He has been Assistant Manager at Beşiktaş, West Ham United and Borussia Dortmund, before, like Ryan Mason, stepping into the hot seat in December 2020 to finish the season off.

Will he return to his old role or move on after winning the German Cup?

Formerly he was a scout for Jürgen Klopp but instead of Spurs the Assistant Manager role at Newcastle United or manager at Crystal Palace is far more likely.

Italian football expert Gabriele Marcotti has named Paulo Fonseca as an interesting choice which the Express latch onto in an absurd article.

They dismiss the notion with absurd claims that Daniel Levy is 'wary' of appointing two Portuguese managers on the trot.

What utter bullshit, the thought won't even enter his head, that just demonstrates the reporter hasn't a clue how businesses make decisions.

Absurdity isn't part of the equation.

We were heavily linked with Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo, but he prefers a return to Portugal for his family I believe.
