THST 6-point Nonsense

THST 6-point Nonsense

THST 6-point-nonsense

I'm sorry but the THST are a laughing stock with their 6-point plan that is totally unrealistic and out of touch with the football industry and football ownership.

I have been asked for my views on the European Super League before.

It was/is, in essence, a negotiating tool in the ongoing game between the big clubs of Europe, who produce all the money for the game and UEFA and FIFA who want control of where that money goes.

It is basically a power struggle at the moment.

Let's have a look at what the THST have said.

"Alone among the six clubs who tried to break away and form a European Super League, the THFC Board has yet to acknowledge the scale of its error, or to apologise to its fans."

What nonsense.

There was no error, the club was merely looking after it's business interests and the future of the football club at the top table as any responsible chairman or owner would and should.

There is nothing to apologise for.

Failure to be at the top table would have placed us in a slow struggle to avoid financial ruin with the vast reduction of money available to us after the inevitable money shifts in broadcasting and commercial deals away from the Premier League and Champions League..

THST clearly do not understand the running of a business.

"Our Club has sustained heavy damage to its reputation and may yet face further repercussions from attempting to break away."

No it hasn't, everyone will have forgotten about it in 5 minutes and the breakaway league will rise it's head again in a couple of years.

If the Premier League brought "repercussions" that damaged the top 6 then the sponsors would pull out of their sponsorship and TV companies would drastically reduce their sponsorship as they only want to show the top 6.

TV companies show the other clubs under sufferance.

The potential here is to financially kill the Premier League.

They can't afford to devalue the league, sponsors would simply trigger a clause in their contracts and pull out and TV companies would want a huge rebate again.

That would mean some of the clubs going bankrupt.

Broadcasting would transfer from the Champions League to the Super League so the current premier club competition would become second rate and have funding of Europa League level.

European wise, the clubs know legally they are in a strong position.

"The Executive Board that sanctioned this decision must take responsibility and be accountable for the damage caused to the Club."

They haven't caused any.

Name the material damage, not your perception of damage.

Give us the numbers.

The idiotic THST continue with their absurd notions that are at odds with the real world of business.

What the trust are effectively saying is that the club should have watched the other top clubs get richer and richer in a Super League while Tottenham become an irrelevance in, what would then be, a minor league as all sponsors would desert the Premier League.

The money in the game is where the top teams are, full stop.

They are the only games the TV companies want and, who the worldwide population would rather watch, hence the TV deals.

What the THST suggest is that the club should have tried to destroy itself.

How many of these folk at THST have actually run a multi-million pound business?

And yet they think they know better how to run one!

The organisation is merely for a few egotists to feel important.

There demands are laughable, as is their attitude.

"Business as usual is not an option," oh grow up children, you haven't a clue have you.

The business is all set up for success with the stadium ready to provide the financial clout needed to take us to the next level.

The plan is pretty clear, we have future proofed with the NFL pitch because the London NFL franchise at Tottenham will happen and that opens up the huge American sponsorship market to us.

The owners decide what is best for the business and therefore club development, not a bunch of unqualified amateurs.

Sir Alex Ferguson said on BBC TV that you have to have a successful club off the pitch to have a successful club on the pitch, because the business pays for the football.

The more successful the business then the greater chance of success you have on the pitch.

Common sense.

Beyond many it seems, particularly the fantasists who think owners can still buy players, they can't.

It is clear the THST have no idea how success is achieved on the field, by success of it.

They know better than Sir Alex Ferguson do they, NO.

The board have done nothing wrong so there are no resignations required, it is rather jumped up to suggest they should, even 'demand'.

There is no 'trust' that needs to be build, the only people who don't 'trust' are the ones with little idea of running a football club, it isn't the same as running a pub team!

Demanding owners pay costs, who do these people think they are. What Joe Lewis does with his money is his concern and nobody else's.

Again they then go on about repairing non-existent 'reputational damage'.

Tottenham had to align themselves with the proposals to remain at the top table, anything less represents the decline of the club.

That is what these amateurs at the THSH can't grasp.

Had it worked, Tottenham would have been left behind run by the THST and financial catastrophe would then follow.

Boris Johnson calls Sir Kier Starmer, Captain Hindsight, the same clearly applies to the THST.

Number 4 is so laughable it's beyond belief.

German football was set up in a certain way, you can not just tell owners you have to give seats on a board and a say to people that do not work for you, are not employed by you.

To be brutal, it has nothing to do with them, they are merely customers buying a product, watching football.

Where are the THSH going to find £1bn to buy ownership or are they saying Joe Lewis should just give them 50% of what is his!

It's utterly absurd, these people are away with the fairies.

Fans are not qualified to make decisions on non-coaching staff so that suggestion is absolute nonsense too.

I'm afraid their 6-point plan is ludicrous, all the THST  has done is make themselves look like idiots out of touch with the world today.

Their favourite programme must be Pie in the Sky!

Tottenham are set up ready for success.

The club need fans to return so the stadium can return to generating the money the clubs neds going forward to develop a successful team.

If the members of the THST board can't see that then they lack the ability for their position.
