Paulo-Dybala-Update

Rumours have started about Spurs renewing interest in Paulo Dybala now he has no image rights issues blocking a transfer so Tottenham Transfer Talk had better bring you a Paulo Dybala update.

The Daily Express on Wednesday or was it Tuesday, confirmed with you that it was totally the third party image rights that prevented a transfer before, not Daniel levy refusing to pay a transfer fee, just as I was telling you all along.

Still, the agenda driven fan will always have his/her agenda and twist anything to suit there outdated and ill-informed position.

Dybala has a contract until 2022 so Juventus are looking to sell him this summer so he doesn't leave for free.

The Serie A side are exploring many options.

  • A swap with Barcelona for either Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann or Donny van de Beek
  • A swap with Manchester United for Paul Pogba.
  • A swap for Mauro Icardi.
  • A sale to Manchester City.
  • A sale to Tottenham.
  • A sale to Chelsea.

Juventus are looking to revamp the squad so there are several players who could move on in addition to Dybala.

Who Are Juventus Willing To Sell?

Juventus need to reduce their wage bill so are willing to offload Aaron Ramsey, Alex Sandro, Giorgio Chiellini, Gianluigi Buffon, Adrien Rabiot, possibly Cristiano Ronaldo, Alvaro Morata and Merih Demaril.

Both Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea have made offers for Aaron Ramsey.

Giorgio Chiellini and Gianluigi Buffon will not be offered new contracts.

Adrien Rabiot's mother, his agent, has rejected an approach from Marseille and wants him to join Barcelona, but refuses to lower his salary demands.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be difficult to find a buyer for at his age (35) and with his wage demands.

Alvaro Morata  is on loan at Juve from Atlético Madrid and may not extend for another loan this summer.

Juventus are keen on Giovani Lo Celso, whom the Italian press suggest figures of 50 million, but in these troubled times, player exchanges are high on everybody's thoughts, as you can see from the suggested swaps Juventus are exploring.

Who Should Spurs Sacrifice?

Who should Spurs sacrifice, tat is a question Mourinho may have to answer.

Does he sacrifice Lo Celso, who has been injured and we haven't seen the best of, but is clearly talented, to get Paulo Dybala and perhaps Aaron Ramsey too or 19-year-old centre-back Radu Drăgușin, a player we made an offer for last summer?

Drăgușin, however, is very close to signing a contract extension.

Lo Celso has a better mindset than N'Dombele, he works harder, can drift past players as we have seen, score goals and create.

I'm sure fans would be split over who to sacrifice to get Dybala, for me it would be N'Dombele because of his 'fair weather' mentality.

Many will say don't sacrifice anyone but our finances might not allow that with the stadium sitting empty.

Personally I don't see us spending around £40m to get Dybala, cash is tight and I believe he is on around £34K more than Harry Kane so he'd either have to take a pay cut at 27 or we may have to increase the wage of other players, not possible without Champions League football.

Once again the end of season is so important for our future, Champions League qualification is a must to attract players of calibre.

Speaking of wages, Aaron Ramsey is on €8 million per season (£354.74 per week) but is willing to reduce his wages to return to the Premier League.

Quite frankly he'd have to halve them.

Do Juventus Want To Sign Harry Kane?

Juventus have proposed Paulo Dybala and 23-year-old (24 next March) centre-back Merih Demiral, together with €30 million cash for the purchase of Harry Kane. The total offer being €130 million, with the Turkish defender valued at €40 million and the 'Joya' €60 million.

€30 million - £25.55m - US$35.2m - AUS$46.57m

€40 million - £34.06m - US$46.93m - AUS$62.07m

€60 million - £51.08m - US$70.37m - AUS$93.10m

€130 million - £110.68m - US$152.47m - AUS$201.73m

That overvalues Dybala with just a year on his contract and largely undervalues Harry Kane too, but then offers are not what a club is prepared to pay, rather what they want to try and get the player for.

Start low and negotiate up.

How Much Are Spurs Willing To Pay?

Spurs and Chelsea have made unofficial offers for Paulo Dybala that value him at €45 million.

How Much Is Harry Kane Worth?

Daniel Levy will not entertain offers below £200m for Harry Kane and indeed would want more than that, a world record fee in fact.

The Italians are a long way off.

Now I suppose I had better qualify that for the younger of my disciples.

Not all offers are official offers, there is a whole discussion behind the scenes before that happens usually.

A club will inform an agent (intermediary) who they wish to sell and a general ball park figure they want, equally a player may inform his agent he wants to leave and the agent will obtain the clubs views and a ball park figure.

Equally a club wanting to buy will contact agents to seek a ball park figure or will engage an intermediary to handle this side of things too.

Two clubs officials may well have an informal discussion and a suggestion made.

All of these are transfer discussions, but none are official, thus there is deniability on both sides that any transfer discussions have taken place, by which they omit, but mean, 'official' transfer discussions.

Tottenham are genuinely interested in Dybala, have made an informal offer, but Juventus are exploring other options to see if they can get more for him, that's the bottom line at the moment.
