To buy or no to buy

Do I need to continue to bang on (what is it 6/7 years & counting) about mentality being everything when José Mourinho is now consistently doing it for me.
Tottenham are still missing the sports psychology trick though, they would help Dele understand buying into Mourinho's system would benefit him...
Because that is the problem.
As he says, it is not for him to go and get Dele and lead him through the door but for Dele to mentally make that decision himself.
My problem is that we just leave it to chance whether Dele or N'dombele or any other player, decides he wants to be a part iof what is going on and commit to it.
That, in my view, should be part of the discussions the player has with a club sports psychologist and it would be his role to help the player see that it would benefit him...
Be it within the club or as a means to secure an exit.
But to produce his best and therefore get picked, he must have mentally committed.
There is no point Mourinho walking Dele "through the door" kicking and screaming like a child...
You simply leave them there until they come to their senses and figure out what is best.
The problem is, that running away means you'll only perform your best on your terms and that will always limit you and prevent you from ever reaching your peak.
By that I mean the peak of what you can produce, not the peak of what you do produce.
A club can not be run for one player.
All the reports you read are that Dele wants out, what's to join Mauricio Pochettino at PSG, feeling he'll get the freedom he wants to di what he wants to do.
However, under Pochettino he wasn't performing either, just getting away with mediocrity.
His ego, fun have lost him the winning mentality he had while developing his career, that has gone at the moment.
There is a lack of drive, a lack of motivation and Tottenham is not a charity for players who haven't bought into the Mourinho style.
Could he leave in January?
There is no point Spurs offloading him, if there are several injuries he would then be required so offloading is something you do in the summer, not the winter.
If we offloaded him, we would have to bring in a replacement and few are available in winter windows, they become available in the summer.
Eriksen simply wants too much wages, £100,000 after tax and before bonuses, which equates to his £260,000 a week now at Inter.
He has the work rate Mourinho likes as well as the creativity so I wouldn't be adverse to seeing him back at the club.
I see neither move happening until the summer, unless Inter relent on their loan requirements.
It has been over a year and Dele hasn't bought into Mourinho's system so unfortunately, with a sports psychologist to help him, I don't see that he ever will.

I know some will argue that his mind was elsewhere or he was worried about getting injured. Well if that is the case then it makes his mentality even worse. Regardless of your future, you are employed by the club to give your all on every occasion (and paid handsomely for the task) and anything less is a betrayal to your employer and the fans.
Of course how do we know that this was the case? There was little evidence in his final season that he's a player to take us to the next level and the situation has only got …
He didn't help us get to a Champions League final with a bad mentality, I agree he didn't stamp himself on it, but I think Mourinho can help him grow as part of his team and if reports are correct and Mourinho is happy for his return, then so can Mourinho.
Obviously wages and fees come into the equation and what else is on the market, preferably proven in the Premier League.
Are you actually suggesting his performances were acceptable because he was looking for a new club? As for him getting us to a champions league final, we got there in spite of him not because of him. It was due to his ridiculous game management that we almost went out in the last minute at City.
Under certain circumstances, a return could be possible but I think wages will now always be the issue that we won't overcome.
The downturn in Eriksen's performances was as a result of wanting to leave so mentally he was not in the right frame of mind to produce his best, just as Dele isn't.
Mentality determines performance, it's everything.
