New Transfer Talk

Spurs-Transfer-Talk

Another post and some more Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Tittle Tattle to talk about.

That's 14 T's in that sentence, impressive.

Right let's waste no time and start with the desperation of Napoli.

Napoli are clearly getting very worried and are annoyed with Arkadiusz Milik.

Milik has given explicit instructions to Napoli on how and where he will leave.

Napoli have set an unrealistic price, which they have dropped to an equally unrealistic price that Juventus and Spurs refuse to match.

Let's remember the guy has 9 months of his contract left, he can sign a pre-contract agreement in 3 months to leave for free.

With 6 months left Christian Eriksen left Spurs for £18m, Napoli want double that for Milik.

Conversion as of 30/09/2020
£18m
€19.69m
US$23.09m

Realistically, given his contract length, he is worth around £15m.

Conversion as of 30/09/2020
£15m
€16.41m
US$19.24m

Napoli are offering him to all and sundry, Manchester City being the latest side.

Milik wants game time, he wants to be playing ahead of the European Championships next summer so he gets selected for Poland.

At Tottenham, because we are in 4 competitions, the EPL, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup, we have a congested fixture list where he get to play rather than just sit on a bench and cover.

Napoli have come back to Tottenham too and suggested we talk further.

Daniel Levy has made clear what we value him at given his contract length and that Napoli will have to lower their demands if there is to be a sale otherwise we will simply go elsewhere.

“The club is trying an effort to try and give us [a striker], which I believe until the last day, we are going to make it happen. But we are a different club than others, we have to do it in different ways.”
José Mourinho

We have to bare in mind what we will end up paying for Inter centre-back Milan Škriniar, whom we have a similar situation.

Our valuation is apart from the Inter valuation by at least €10m

Conversion as of 30/09/2020
£9.19m
€10m
US$11.73m

I reported 4 days ago our £36.48 million (€40m - US$46.5m) offer which is being reported as ITK on Wednesday 30th.

"Reports in Italy on Saturday night say Tottenham have offered £36.48 million (€40m - US$46.5m) and are not interested in the £45.6 million (€50m - US$58.13m) Inter are asking."

Daniel Levy will not be bullied into paying over the odds and is sticking firm with the clubs valuation, which we believe to be fair to both sides.

That is the public talk.

The private talk, I believe a deal has already been agreed subject to Spurs reaching the Europa League group stages, hence Inter expecting a formal bid.

Formal bids are made when both sides have generally already agreed a fee.

Tottenham have spoken with Bayern Leverkusen and asked about the availability of 27-year-old (28 in October) Lucas Alario.

Spurs were told by the Bundesliga outfit that the Argentinian international (7 caps, 3 goals, 1 assist) striker was not for sale.

He scored 12 goals and had 3 assists in 36 games last season.

Alario played 1,911 minutes, the equivalent of 20.23 full games and scored a goal every 159.29 minutes (goal or assist every 127.4 minutes).

Our interest might stem from the fact Alario has struggled to nail down a regular starting berths under Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz.

The strikers agent, Pedro Aldave, said in an interview with Kicker his client might have to leave and so far this season

"If his situation doesn't change this summer, we will look for a solution that is better for Lucas."
Pedro Aldave

Alario has been given 45 minutes in a cup game, in which he scored and made an assist and 63 minutes in their opening Bundesliga game (0-0 draw with Wolfsburg).

For the second league game (RB Leipzig) he was back on the bench.

We are also talking to Glasgow Celtic again about 22-year-old (23 in January) French striker Odsonne Edouard.

They were asking too much money before, now nearer the end of the window and with them out of the UEFA Champions League we are seeing what the price might be now.

Nobody seems to be mentioning the UEFA Europa League though.

Yes we have to see if we qualify for the group stages and the guaranteed money that brings, but so do others.

Celtic play Bosnia & Herzegovina side Sarajevo (a) - striker Odsonne Edouard
Wolfsburg play Greek side AEK (a) - striker Wout Weghorst

Both those sides may be in difficulty if they don't qualify which may mean their strikers would be available for cheaper, all assuming we qualify, which is absolutely imperative.

We have to wait for qualification to know our financial position and then we can cut our cloth in the transfer market.
