Transfer Tittle Tattle

Tottenham-Tittle-Tattle

Good day folks, just a quick one.

A transfer window is never black and white, alas some of our fans are and lack the skill of putting things in context.

All the talk at the moment is of strikers, obviously we are going to sign one so there isn't any need to complain, but that goes against the grain of the anti-Spurs Tweets by Spurs followers.

That suggests no chance of Jiminez at Wolves

This suggests Ollie Watkins and throws in a Jack Clarke loan, surely a requirement for us but something we don't have to do until after the window shuts on 5 October. We have until 16 October for that I think.

It's being reported that Watkins is going to go to Aston Villa for £28 million with £5 million in add-ons, which in my view, in this climate, is at least £10 million too much.

Tottenham linked Darwin Núñez has joined Benfica. The Liga NOS club officially presented the 21-year-old Uruguayan on Friday.

He has a five-year contract and Spanish side Almeria will receive €24 million for him.

Rafael Leão was a player I wrote about and I have him down as the dark horse that nobody knows the name of.

He is a 21-year-old (22 next June) Portuguese U-21 international striker at Italian side AC Milan, who bought him from Lille last summer for £20.70 million.

He started out at Sporting, the same club Eric Dier came from.

He played 1,393 minutes in Serie A, scoring 6 goals and having 2 assists, a goal every 232 minutes.

Sardinia-based Serie A side Cagliari are reportedly in contact with Tottenham over unwanted left-back Danny Rose according to Tuttomercatoweb. he is on Eusebio Di Francesco’s radar.

Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir are interested in Rose. The only hope I can offer is the tax situation in Turkey as I'd have thought he would prefer one of the major leagues in Europe.

One player I have not really talked about is Gareth Bale.

Are we interested, yes.

We do talk to Real Madrid and his agents every summer to see if a deal can be done.

We have recently started to talk to them again but all parties are a long way apart.

For Gareth a pay-off from Real Madrid will be required and they are not prepared to offer anything he finds acceptable yet.

What Gareth would like as a financial package and what we would offer are a long way apart.

So, we will continue to talk and have 4 weeks left to see how far down nearer our mark parties are prepared to come.

Would Bale return to Spurs, yes he would.

Don't expect it, but it is being looked at again and he'd be homegrown!
