Škriniar and Bits and Bobs

As you are all keen for Tottenham Tittle Tattle I'll give you some more bits and bobs today rather than a more intellectual post.

Newcastle United (Premier League Sunday), Chelsea (League Cup Tuesday), Maccabi Haifa (Europa League Thursday), Manchester United (Premier League Sunday).

The least important will obviously be Chelsea in the League Cup and yet Spurs need to win a trophy.

So the question for all the anti-Levy and anti-ENIC fans is what team do you put out to face Chelsea, possibly jeopardizing the Europa League or Premier League?

I am sure we will we see a similar side to play Chelsea as the one who played Shkendija in the Europa League.

I'd say Dele is a certainly to start.

Inter Milan and AC Milan have both turned down the opportunity to sign Dele Alli. Spurs offered him to both clubs last week and have offered Juan Foyth to Inter Milan too.

As expected Serge Aurier will not be joining a Russian club.

"It is something players with me, they feel all time that I don't give positions for free. The players have to fight, to perform, I would never give him a place because he was expensive or important."
José Mourinho

"I do not want players to moan, I do not want players to feel frustrated, I don’t want players to feel I have something against them when I don’t pick them. I want players to fight for minutes.”
José Mourinho

Daniel Levy Negotiating
  • Lyon wanted €80m for Tanguy Ndombélé, Daniel Levy paid €42m + €20m bonuses (official figure from Lyon accounts)
  • Real Betis wanted €75m for Giovani Lo Celso, Daniel Levy paid €30.68m + 15.78m loan fee (46.46m)
  • Fulham wanted £50m for Ryan Sessegnon, Daniel Levy paid £25m
  • Southampton wanted £35m for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Daniel Levy paid £15m

Milan Škriniar

Inter Milan management are still discussing selling Milan Škriniar to us but will of course need a replacement lined up before they release him.

The Italians are considering a move for 20-year-old Turkish international centre-back Ozan Kabak, according to latest Italian news reports.

Kabak, inquired about by AC Milan, Napoli, Lazio, Leicester City and Liverpool, might be leaving Bundesliga side Schalke and would command a fee of around £23.71 million (€26m - US$30.23m).

Reports in Italy on Saturday night say Tottenham have offered £36.48 million (€40m - US$46.5m) and are not interested in the £45.6 million (€50m - US$58.13m) Inter are asking.

However, after meeting with Peter Hitchen they are awaiting a formal offer.

Piero Ausilio, Inter Milan Sporting Director, spoke to DAZN before the home match against Fiorentina on Saturday evening.

"There was a meeting with a Tottenham manager, but we reiterated that he is not on the market: it is confirmed and we have already taken Godin out of the department. At the moment we do not think we will deprive ourselves of him."

Milan Škriniar (6ft 2in)
Strengths
Dominant in the air, combative on the ground
Tough tackler and demanding organiser
Sublime passing range and accuracy (92.1%)

Weakness
Lunges into challenges
Spurs have a problem conceding goals from set-plays and corners so this could be an issue.

Lots of reports that Spurs are yet to make an official offer, that just means both sides and agents are negotiating to try to reach a consensus and then a written offer would be made.

It doesn't mean we haven't made a verbal offer, which clearly we have, otherwise there would be discussions which the Italian media have sown are definitely taking place.

As a part of negotiations with Inter Milan, the Italians have twice offered us Christian Eriksen who would be happy to return to Spurs.

This is part of the reason why there has been talk of Dele Alli leaving but Dele looks like he is staying now although there are 9 days left of the transfer window.

Do not rule out Eriksen returning on deadline day, I'm sure we will try a late bid if we have a non-homegrown space available.

Things have not worked out for Eriksen in Italy and the move to Spain is unlikely to happen so his options are limited.

At least at Tottenham he, like Bale, would be returning to a happy place to rekindle his enthusiasm and motivation in a league he knows.

I don't see Daniel Levy paying the £36.48 million (€40m - US$46.5m) Inter are asking thus a bargain may be there to be had on deadline day.

We are discussing with Inter a potential move for Moussa Sissoko who has been informed he won't get much game time and has therefore told the club he would like to leave with the European Championships coming up next summer.

Dele has been discussed with Inter and AC Milan but both turned him down due to wages and of course we are still discussing Škriniar.

PSG have also dropped their interest in Dele Alli after speaking with his agent because of his wage demands.

Lots to talk about between us and a multitude of agents.

I wrote a couple of years ago now how important the emerging and untapped American market was going to be important for our finances and recent events have certainly seen us raise our profile.

First we had a run in the Champions League which gathers worldwide exposure, then a Champions League final.

The Amazon ‘All or Nothing’ series exposed Spurs to the lucrative North American sporting audience.

Then there is the NFL tie-up and the signing of American womens football star Alex Morgan who has more followers on Instagram than Tottenham do.

Not forgetting worldwide name Gareth Bale.

Negotiations between Napoli and Tottenham for Arkadiusz Milik are well advanced.

David Pantak, the agent of Arek Milik has been in London talking with Daniel Levy who is believed to have offered his client €4m salary (£70,000-a-week) while Pantek is asking for €5m (£88,000-a-week).

Milik has already rejected a €4.5m (£79,000-a-week) offer from Napoli to sign a contract extension.

The Daily Mail suggesting he is asking for £160,000-a-week is totally wrong.

Napoli want Milik to sign a one-year extension before he leaves so they can get more money for him but that doesn't seem to benefit Milik himself so unless it settles the dispute they both have, I can't see that happening.

The word from Italy is that Napoli have offered him to Carlo Ancelotti at Everton but he isn't particularly interested having managed him before.

Juventus are considering a move for ex-Tottenham forward Fernando Llorente now at Napoli.

He would be a cheaper option as a back-up to Alvaro Morata than Everton forward Moise Kean, which would no place for Milik at the Toffees.

Arkadiusz Milik prefers a move to Tottenham and Napoli have struggled to convince him to consider any other clubs than Juventus, Roma and Tottenham.

The very latest news on Saturday night from Italy is that a deal is expected to be agreed in the first part of next week.

Napoli are insisting on £22.8 million (€25m - US$29.6m)+ £4.56 million (€5m - US$5.81m) in bonuses and are, at the moment, saying they won't discount.

Another former player, 25-year-old Nabil Bentaleb, who was on loan at Newcastle United from January from German side Schalke, is being tracked by Sampdoria to replace Adrien Silva claim La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Former Tottenham and Real Madrid manager Juande Ramos has spoken to Radio Marca the day before his 66th birthday about the transfers of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilón.

On Gareth Bale:
"He is a player that I really like, with enormous power and a privileged left foot. I think he has given a lot to Real Madrid. He is a very profitable footballer and the few that there are with a key talent. Within Madrid they will know the problems he may have had with Zidane and he sure has an explanation."

On Sergio Reguilón:
"Things will come in due course. Now Real Madrid have Mendy and Marcelo on the left side, a very populated position. If they have gotten a good amount for him that is the reason why they have let him out, not because he has fewer conditions than the other two. I think he will adapt well to Tottenham because he is a player with a lot of projection."

Newcastle United
In all four Sonny goals scored last Sunday, there were only three passes between ball turnover and shot.

Son and Kane have scored 1 goal each in 4 home games against Newcastle in the Premier League.

There, that was a mixture for you, enjoy your day and let's hope for three points.
