Spurs Transfer Roundup

Spurs-Transfer-Roundup

OK it's a quick Tottenham Tittle Tattle this evening.

Thanks for the many positive comments on the article this morning which I read after surfacing from my pit for the second time having been up at 5:30 am.

Disappointing to see some Spurs fans moaning because something might be taking a day or 2 days longer than they want it to happen, pathetic.

Anyway onto other matters and let's quickly take a trip to the garden and ask why all the butterflied around are whilethis year or indeed now generally, rather than the brown and orange winged ones you used to see all the time?

Answers on a postcard, I did watch a programme explaining why there were less but I have forgotten the reason.

To Spurs matters.

The are a lot of rumours doing the rounds and the various ITK accounts are saying this is our priority, while another says another is our priority.

Incidentally, the account pinching info from here has been deactivated after many tweets exposing them as fake.

I have remained sold in the information from the beginning on June, Timothy Castagne from Atalanta, we are having to wait until the last remaining Italian club are knocked out of the Champions League.

They play PSG in the last eight.

If we can get the price for Max Aarons down he will be the other.

Serge Aurier asked to leave so we didn't stand in his way, that's why we are in discussions with AC Milan, although they don't value him anywhere near where we do unsurprisingly.

It's all about the negotiation and Daniel Levy getting as much as he can to offset other purchases.

Aarons and Castagne will be signed on wages less than Aurier's.

You'll have noticed I have hardly mentioned Lille right-back Mehmet Zeki Çelik while others have been saying he is Mourinho's priority, that has never been my understanding and still isn't.

We have lists, Mourinho has lists, he is on it but not at the top.

I'm sticking with Aarons and Castagne, if Aarons gets ruled out then Jeremy Ngakia hasn't signed for anyone yet and he still has our offer so we might turn back there.

I nailed my colours to the masy of Habib Diallo as the alternative to Artem Dzyuba and with the Russian signing a new contract Diallo looks to me like a no-brainer, if we can fit him into the non-homegrown quota.

To that end we are looking to sacrifice Erik Lamela with Ryan Fraser still on the radar and a small possibility of Zaha, if and only if, we can get his fee well down.

Having said that is we can get Milik down to a reasonable fee then there won't be money there for Zaha even with a reduced fee.Again though, if Lamela does go even though Mourinho likes him, he won't be disappointed if he stays, there is a list of replacements with so may clubs needing to offload players.

Italy is the only option for Lamela, where clubs are strapped for cash.

Another option to free non-homegrown places is selling Tanguy Ndombélé but nobody wants to pay the fee we paid for him.

The options we have been offered are too old or on too high wages. We are not going to swap him for players we do not really want, we are not here to take the players they want to offload, but to have the players we want.

In my view this one is still in the balance and will run.

Make no mistake, Ndombélé representatives are looking at options to get him out of the club. He has been told he has a future at the club if he applies himself, but of course he hasn't been and the big question is will he next season.

Nothing has changed in his situation at all yet.

It entirely depends if other clubs sell to raise the cash or come up with players that are beneficial to us in the positions we are looking to fill.

Remember if we loan out Ryan Sessegnon to get some game time then we are going to need a left-back and that may mean another non-homegrown player space required.

Timothy Castagne and Japhet Tanganga can cover left-back and I'm expecting 18-year-old (19 next April) Dennis Cirkin to get some experience when we have weaker opposition or if we qualify out of the group stages early, assuming we are in them of course.

This window has changed since the relegation and play-off situations have been settled.

As reported earlier, the Chinese are holding up the signing of Kim Min-jae, they are in a battle with him.

He wants to join Spurs, they don't want o sell him so there is no movement in negotiations on price.

We are not going to be force into paying more than we value him at and that stalemate has opened up the chances of another taking his place.

Options will be explored.

As you know we have over 25 centre-backs on our potential list.

I'll repeat for n readers, negotiations do not take place every day so there isn't movement day-to-day as fans and social media would like, hence journalists making up stories and looking for things to write.

Spurs have not forgotten about 26-year-old (27 in October) Swedish international (15 caps, 7 goals, 3 assists) and 1.FSV Mainz 05 striker Robin Quaison.

He is a player have been monitoring extremely closely and he only has a year left on his contract, thus is in our price range, or should be.

The other striker off the radar of journalists at the moment is 25-year-old (26 in December) M'Baye Niang.

The Senegal international (15 caps, 4 goals, 1 assist) scored a goal in Ligue 1 every 213 minutes (10 in 26 games).

In my next post I'll take a look at the three main striker targets, coming at it from a different angle.
