Spurs Tracking Fede Cartabia

Spurs Tracking Fede Cartabia

Hello and welcome to another Tottenham Tittle Tattle with THBN. No delay, let's get on with it.

FEDE CARTABIA
We kick off today with news that Tottenham are tracking 27-year-old (28 next January) Argentinian right winger Fede Cartabia.

He plays in the UAE Gulf League for Shabab Al-Ahli on loan from Deportivo de La Coruña as either a winger or attacking midfielder.

Having started 63% of games, playing 62 minutes and with a goal participation score of 17% (4 goals, 3 assists in 15 games).

He has a year remaining on his contract and Transfermarkt value him at just £1.17m (€1.3m - AUS$2.14m - US$1.48m).

GUILLERMO MARIPAN
Another name on Spurs radar is 26-year-old (27 next May) Chilean international centre-back Guillermo Maripán.

Maripán has been capped 24 times by his country, scoring 2 goals and plays for Monaco in Ligue 1 where he has started 77% of league games he has been available for.

The defender has played 75% of the available minutes and has a goal participation figure of 4%.

Transfermarkt value him at £9,9m (€11.01m - AUS$18.07m - US$12.37m).

ERIC DIER
The Eric Dier contract extension talks are going well and that everything is expected to be finalised shortly.

The club don't envisage any problems and are still waiting to hear from Jan Vertonghen about staying until the end of the season. From his point of view there isn't much point, he isn't going to be a first choice so why not go to a new club and prepare for the season that starts straight after this one finishes.

JAN VERTONGHEN
Inter Milan are to hold further talks with Jan Vertonghen's agent to try and convince him that Inter is the right destination, Roma are still looking like the front runners with Ajax not having given up yet either.

That would allow him some settling in time and adjustment to a new culture, perhaps start to learn a new language, Unlike some, he immerses himself in a country.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO
Barcelona are finding it very difficult to find a suitor for Brazilian attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

They massively overpaid for the 28-year-old (birthday as I write this 12 June) in January 2018 paying an utterly daft £130.5m (€145.06m - AUS$238.49m - US$162.81m).

They have reduced his price to around £50m (€55.58m - AUS$91.37m - US62.38m) and are now offering to pay some of his wages, which they can only do if he is on a loan deal.

One club can not pay the wages of a player permanently purchased by another club, that would lead the door open to corruption.

A deal would have to be struck that involved an initial loan with option to buy or an agreed figure taken off the transfer fee.

LUKE AMOS
23-year-old (24 next February) Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos has extended his loan spell at QPR until the season finishes the West London club have confirmed.
