Spurs Three Striker Choices

Spurs Three Striker Choices

Hello once again for some Tottenham Tittle Tattle and tonight we'll have some more chat on strikers with whom I consider to be the three main contenders

Danny Ings, I'm told, doesn't want to leave Southampton so my clear fist choice and the choice of many others will perhaps have to be ruled out.

Obviously everything hinges on discussions and other transfer activity.

For instance, if Thomas Meunier is now going to go to Borussia Dortmund (if my news is correct) then we may have to spend on a right-back and reduce our backup striker budget.

Other players might come into consideration and wages play a part, we still have to keep our wages under control, we can't just go dishing out wages like confetti.

Do we go for a younger player who might develop and still have a decent transfer value or do we go for an older one who will not?

It really is like putting a jigsaw together when you perhaps have more requirements than you have money for.

For the past few weeks you have seen me drop Metz forward Habib Diallo into the striker conversation and the comparison chart showed him in a good light.

His agent, Thierno Seydi, has revealed that we have been watching his client and that we made an offer to them in January.

He told the Senegalese Press Agency (relayed by GFFN) that:

“Already in January, there was an offer from Tottenham. As soon as the European markets open, things should precipitate.”

As I said, for me it is a three-way fight at the moment.

Because Giroud would command a transfer fee and a high wage, I think we have moved away to explore three other options.

Stade Rennais striker M'Baye Niang has certainly been under our watchful eye. We have spoken to him but I am fully expecting the Senegal striker to join Marseille.

Habib Dello is another Senegal striker, this time playing for Metz and at 24 is an interesting option who wouldn't cost the earth.

The third candidate is the oldest (31-year-old - 32 in August) and most experienced, both internationally and domestically, Russian captain and Zenit striker Artem Dzyuba who is also a free agent later this month.

If they were your three choices and they were all £65,00 or less wages, which one would you choose?

Personally I am getting more and more convinced that giant Russian forward Artem Dzyuba will be our option.
