Spurs Talking With Barcelona - Ndombele

OK, before we get into the main article, some transfer news to add the the centre-back article of a few days ago, link at the bottom if some of you naughty folk haven't read it yet.

French outlet RMC are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur have made an initial approach for 17-year-old (18 next April) PSG central defender Hubert Mbuyi-Muamba.

The U-17 captain is also reported to have been in contact with Portuguese side Porto but the French club do not want to let him leave.

His current deal runs until 2021.

Again in RMC Sport, Spurs are showing an interest in 22-year-old (23 next March) Stade de Reims central defender Axel Disasi.

The French club are asking for £13.45m (€15m - AUS$24.9m - US$16.58m) plus bonuses.

He is out of contract in June 2021.

Sevilla have shown an interest, as have a number of Bundesliga clubs,Southampton and Arsenal.

Another central defender we have made significant enquiries about and watched on multiple occasions in France is 20-year-old (21 next May) right-sided defender Mohamed Simakan.

He can play at right-back or centre-back and has been scouted by AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund (with whom he is in regular contact), Everton and Southampton.

He might cost the same as Disasi.

I gave you a list of 6 central defenders we were contemplating, well there is another 3, I said the list wasn't exhaustive.

It is the same for every position.

OK, that's the transfer news out of the way, well the centre-back news for now,so it's on to the main course Tanguy Ndombele.

Jose Mourinho will have a imminent decision to make.

Do you keep a player who has shown a poor mental attitude and no desire to put any effort in in front of fans to fight for a place.

Sounds very similar to another player Spurs signed from France, Étienne Capoue, who even said he thought he had a devine right to start, not fight for a place.

At Watford, he later admitted the situation was his mistake,he had the wrong mental approach.

Tanguy Ndombele smacks of another.

Everyone talks about him so is it any wonder that a player who has never had to fight for a first team place thinks he will and should walk into any other first team.

Barcelona are interested, but they have no money, Messi is draining them.

That means they are happy to offer a plethora of first-team players to secure him, Philippe Coutinho being one of them.

Spurs could perhaps sign two or three Barcelona players, without buyback clauses and send a player not performing and perhaps not happy their way.

He might develop there, so what, we could end up with an improved squad ourselves.

It is undoubtedly being discussed but you won't find it being reported in the media because there are no flights booked for them to try and put two and two together.

Tottenham are in a strong bargaining position as Barcelona's interest in Ndombele is not a passing interest, it's a big interest.

If they want him they are going to have to offer us at least £60m (€66.85m - AUS$110.98m - US$73.89m) worth of players, probably more.

Emerson is just one of their players who interests us, he is a 21-year-old (22 in January) right-back currently out on loan at Real Betis until 2021.

Juventus and Barcelona have already made enquiries with Ndombele's entourage and PSG are also interested.

It has also been reported in the French press that the problems between the French midfielder and Mourinho are unlikely to be solved.

You can ignore the Independent report about us not selling him, Spurs are happy to sell if the right offer comes in.

Whether it will or not is another matter but the situation gives us a good bargaining chip and we are definitely exploring the options.

A replacement in Hojbjerg, a proven Premier League player is, as you are aware, already on our radar
