Tottenham-Transfer-Talk

Farewell to Christian Eriksen, I wish him well, unless he is playing against us of course and welcome to Giovani Lo Celso, he is looking to be everything I thought he was.

Tottenham are trying to offload Juan Foyth, Victor Wanyama, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters before the end of the window.

Danny Rose, as you know, has said he will simply stay and run down his contract to lave on a free so he can get bigger wages and a bigger signing on fee, which happens if a club doesn't have to pay a transfer fee for him.

He took time away from pre-season training to talk to clubs and he is not totally committed to Spurs, thus his performances have plummeted.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear to him he is not in his plans. He will continue to be overlooked unless we have injuries or players need a rest, but as Mourinho pointed out at his last press conference, he has 4 options at left-back.

It has been made clear to him he won't be playing football in the hope that he relents and agrees a move away with Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Southampton the latest three clubs interested in him.

Not the top-level clubs he has been hoping for.

Napoli have turned down advances for Fernando Llorente from Barcelona and Inter Milan with ongoing injury concerns over Dries Mertens.

Newcastle United, Sevilla and Genia have all made enquiries for Krzysztof Piątek, Chelsea have spoken to agents who offered Piątek to them, while Bayer Leverkusen, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United are tracking him.

He remains our main striker target so negotiations are ongoing with Milan while Piątek has spoken to José Mourinho.

Edinson Cavani is getting closer to a move to Atlético Madrid and AC Milan know of PSG's interest in Piątek.

He is likely to play in he Italian Cup of Tuesday so Zlatan Ibrahimovich can have a rest, after which he would be free to leave if a deal that gives the Rossoneri most of the money they spent on him can be reached.

The situation with Piątek is that we do not want to pay the fee AC Milan are asking, we still want a loan with an option to buy. While we are prepared to pay somewhere in the region of €28m (£23.71m) we want to include bonuses to help reduce the fee.

AC Milan have asked for a big loan fee, we do not want a large loan fee so negotiations are more over how the fees are paid rather than how much is paid.

They want money in this financial year, we want the money going out in the next financial year is the crux of the matter.

Financially we do have constraints and there is not a great deal of money to spend this window hence insisting on the fee we wanted for Eriksen that goes a long way to paying for Bergwijn or Piątek.

Tottenham are Piątek's preferred club to sign for, understandably. He wants football to be fit for the European Championships as his father told the media.

We do have other irons in the fire, Real Sociedad are keen to do a deal for Willian José, Spanish clubs are always having to sell to balance books. As mentioned in a scouting article not yet released, we are tracking Wout Weghorst of Wolfsburg.

By the way, I'm told the Bergwijn deal is done.
