Tottenham Transfer Talk on Friday with THBN

The loss of Harry Kane now until March has meant a change of plan and the search for a striker has been stepped up.

Obviously, for all those idiots asking why we haven't scouted players before now, we have been monitoring potential targets and we have a list of possible signings.

It is a question of working through our list to see which of these it would be possible to sign, initially on loan with a view to purchasing in the summer, as that is in our best interests. We can then see how they perform and whether they adapt to the Premier League before we commit to buy them.

Last night Tottenham made an approach to Lyon for highly-rated striker Moussa Dembélé.

The 23-year-old (24 in July) is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe, but Chelsea seems to be top of the queue with Oliver Giroud having agreed terms with Inter Milan.

The Lyon president, as he always does, claims his player, this time Dembélé, will not leave. He sais the same thing about Ndombele when we knew a deal had already been reached. He isn't a man to take any note of.

AC Milan have reportedly turned down our claimed initial offer for striker Krzysztof Piątek of £4.25 million (€5m - AUS$8.10m - US$5.55m) for a loan until the end of the season and a purchase price of £25.49 million (€30m - AUS$48.59m - US$33.31m) in the summer.

In other reports we have refused to use Juan Foyth or Victor Wanyama as part of the deal. Sounds highly dubious, we are desperate to get shot of Wanyama.

In yet more reports Milan have refused our second offer of including Juan Foyth or Victor Wanyama in any deal.

Most clubs want a straight sale for players, exactly the same as us preferring a sale for Kyle Walker-Peters but clubs only want loans so he'll probably go on loan.

In even more news, it is claimed our third offer of £28m (€33.94m - AUS$53.38m - US$36.58m) has been agreed which is being reported in the Sun tomorrow (it is Thursday night as I write this) for the 24-year-old (25 in July) striker.

hey suggest a medical in the next 48 hours, we'll see.

It is clear it has become a priority. Goals win games, preventing them doesn't hence the striker being top priority at the moment.

It was going to be a quiet window but overusing players has resulted in injuries that have forced our hand.
