Spurs Scout two Midfielders

Federico-Bernardeschi

Tottenham sent a scout to Italy at the weekend to take in the Juventus versus Parma game to cast an eye over two midfield players.

The Italian international (24 caps, 4 goals,2 assists) Federico Bernardeschi is interesting Jose Mourinho but at the moment he is the subject of transfer speculation involving Barcelona and Ivan Rakitić.

The 25-year-old (26 in February) attacking-midfielder Bernardeschi didn't play at the weekend, he only trained after the final whistle. This season he has only played 749 minutes in Serie A, the equivalent of 8.32 games.

A swap deal with the Spanish side has stalled because the clubs are too far apart on valuations. The Italian has been performing below expectations this season at the Allianz Stadium yet Juventus are asking for €30m + the Croatian. Barcelona has offered €10m + Rakitić.

Under contract until 2022, he is on a manageable £65K a week.

There are rumours of a swap deal for AC Milan's Brazilian attacking-midfielder Lucas Paquetá which both clubs are currently denying.

Juventus could ask for Nelson Semedo instead of Rakitić. Semedo is on the bench for Barcelona now after sustaining an injury in November.

We were also keeping an eye on 24-year-old (25 in April) French international (6 caps) central-midfielder Adrien Rabiot but Juventus are not interested in letting him leave in January even though he and his agent have been making noises about a loan deal to get more game time.

Rabiot has played 781 minutes in Serie A this season, the equivalent of 8.68 minutes.

Jose Mourinho has spoken to Portuguese international right-back João Cancelo. The Manchester City player is unhappy with his game time under Pep Guardiola and doesn't want to miss out on the European Championships.

Any move for the 25-year-old (26 in May) will have to wait for the summer though.

Spurs seem to have agreed to Inter's latest offer for Christian Eriksen €15m + €5m in bonuses to reach the €20m Daniel Levy has been asking for his signature. That is €12m more than they originally offered.

He is expected to be gone by the weekend where he'll be at Inter's game with Cagliari.
