Spurs Are Not Panic Buying

Spurs Are Not Panic Buying

I really do despair at some supporters sometimes, that seems to have no idea how a club works at all.

Clubs have a list of players for every position constantly.

They do the analytics and scout players over several seasons constantly so that at any point they have a list of potential signings for every position in the team.

Whether that player is available, whether his club wants to sell him, whether he wants to come to Spurs are different matters, but potential players are sounded out, at least their agents are, about the possible desire to join Spurs at a future point if all other factors come to align together.

Hary Kane gets injured so we then start working our way through our list in order. Of course, right now, we can only sign the players on our list who might be available at this moment in time.

While you may refer to a possible signing as a panic buy, it isn't a buy that hasn't been fully analysed and scouted.

Thus, in that sense, it isn' a panic buy.

Personally, I haven't heard that we have agreed anything except a transfer in principle with the player and club.

A way to go yet before a deal can be confirmed, if negotiations get that far with other irons in the fire as well.
