Perceptive Question and Bayern Munich manager press conference video in English

Jan-Vertonghen-asked-a-perceptive-question

Today, as you are all aware, is Champions League day against Bayern Munich this time and as is often the case, a silly rumour comes out yo try to unsettle us.

It doesn't affect the players, but it does affect the fans who all start fighting amongst each other and are not providing the right pre-match environment.

Jan Vertonghen was asked a perceptive question by a female reporter, which phrased better might have seen a better response. Shame her male colleagues can't ask any perceptive questions. All we get from them is the usual failure mentality type questions showing they haven't a clue how successful people think.

She was saying that reaching a Champions League Final should be seen as an achievement, not because we lost as a defeat.

That I wholeheartedly agree with.

Tanguy Ndombélé is a prime example, he joined Spurs partly because we reached a Champions League Final, we have more kudos now and fans should be seeing getting there as improvement, just as the Spurs players themselves do.

Unfortunately, we have a set of fans who simply ignore it and suggest we are going backward simply because of the end of season form.

Part of the reason was putting our eggs in the Champions League basket, injuries and a knowledge that we were relatively safe to qualify for the Champions League the following season thus where we finished didn't really matter.

Instead of listening to Mauricio Pochettino, which you have probably all done by now, take a listen to the Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovač as this has been well dubbed over in English.

In the section below you'll find two further videos, one of the individual performances of Erik Lamela and the other the individual performance of Son Heung-min.

They allow you to clarify on the ball contributions and can often lead to a greater understanding of the role played by a player in any game.
