Transfer Talk Update: Friday - Eriksen, Fernandes, Sessegnon

Eriksen-and-Fernandes
Eriksen leaving, Fernandes arriving?

OK, those of you reading the Tottenham Hotspur Blog News forum will have been aware of this yesterday.

Christian Eriksen told the club he would not sign a new contract, has since negotiated a new one and verbally agreed to it subject to Real Madrid not wanting to buy him of course.

Manchester United have never been an option and we rebuffed Juventus advances, Eriksen only wants Barcelona or Real Madrid.

He has thus not signed any deal while waiting to see what Real Madrid were going to do. Obviously, he knows where he stands with them.

There is an unconfirmed rumour doing the rounds that Real Madrid contacted us while we were at the Audi Cup with them and they informed us they wish to purchase Eriksen.

That has prompted us to move for Bruno Fernandes as his replacement. He would be purchased in addition to Giovani Lo Celso who is still expected to be finalised, even if it does appear to be taking longer than some of us would like.

WE have discussed the situation with Sporting so now it's a question of Real Madrid and ourselves agreeing on a fee, which will drop from the numbers we have been asking and then agreeing on a fee for Fernandes once we know how much we have coming in and when (over how many instalments).

As for Ryan Sessegnon, that is still expected and he is still expected tp join us even if Rose stays.
