For those of you who are not regular readers and only follow the media (which you shouldn't) the deal for Giovani Lo Celso was agreed over 6 weeks ago.

What you are hearing in the press is rubbish, just the same with the Tanguy Ndombélé purchase, that fee was all agreed right after the international break. The deal was sown up over a month before it was announced so Lyon could buy replacements at the right price.

If clubs think you have got money to spend they up their prices so they play a game and leak false information to the press who lap it up and do their gullible readers. Clubs do not tell reporters what is really going on and only give them the information they want them to know.

That's why they are frequently behind the news and behind me when it comes to Tottenham Transfer Talk.

A deal is not signed and won't be until he returns from holiday, Real Betis held out the hope there would be a bidding war but there isn't and Lo Celso only wants to join Spurs so any interested party that talks to his agent get that message.

The fee is €68m + bonuses.

€68 - €25 = €43
Of that €43m, PSG gets 20% of any profit from a sale.
€43 - 20% PSG) = €34.4m

Real Betis, therefore, have €34.4m to spend on a replacement and Lyon midfielder Nabil Fakir appears to be their choice.

Giovani will return from his holiday in another week after playing in the Copa America for Argentina, along with Juan Foyth, who had a great tournament at both centre-back and right-back.

Expect a new system next season chaps, hence a lot of midfielders on the books.

  1. I dont believe anything i read until i see a signed player with a pen in his hand and shirt on his body that welcomes him to spurs anything else is just false news
    • Believe, or don't believe. That's your prerogative. Stating that it's false news is a claim that you actually know what's going on - which from your other comments seems unlikely.

      Actually, you could, alternatively, read the blog regularly and judge for yourself how often (as a percentage) Clive's comments turn out to have been reliable after the fact. Just saying.

      PS. Giving a Name the comment would give it more weight. Anyone can write any old rubbish when they don't leave a name - and many often do. It won't necessarily mean you're right but it will mean you get the respect of having said it openly at least.
