Spurs waiting on Fekir to sign and holiday to finish before Lo Celso signs

Welcome to all the new readers of Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN) where you are getting what is really happening at the club rather than what the press are being fed.

You'll find further stories below this article in the THBN Articles - Further Reading section and on the righthand side of the website under Popular Posts.

If you want to know which youngsters are going on the Asian pre-season tour you'll find it there.

Right onto the situation of Giovano Lo Celso.

Real Betis are negotiating the transfer of Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir, who has one year left on his contract and deemed to rich by most clubs at €30m (£26.93m - $33.86m).

When that is completed and he returns from holiday in a week, then the transfer will go ahead. There isn't a rush as he can't start training until his holiday anyway.

Now Betis cannot afford the €28m (£25.14m - $31.60n) release clause of the striker they want, Borja Inglesias from fellow LaLiga side RCD Espanyol so how are they managing to negotiate a transfer with money they don't have?

Answer, because the deal for Giovani Lo Celso was agreed with Spurs BEFORE the Copa America and Betis do not want that information leaked so they can negotiate the purchase of a replacement without the selling club knowing they have money to spend.

It was exactly the same with Tanguy Ndombélé and Lyon, that transfer fee was agreed right after the international break and the press fed false stories so Lyon could line up a replacement.

I fail to understand why some fans can't accept a simple fact of life, that clubs line up replacements BEFORE they release players generally. That is a simple reality.

I first released Lo Celso's transfer fee on 4 July (2 weeks ago) and again yesterday while Alisdair Gold and the press are trying to tell you no fee has been agreed yet. Here's the article below:

Tottenham Transfer talk including Lo Celso

The same thing happened with Tanguy Ndombélé, while the press were telling you negotiations were going on I had already released the fee on 26 June and was proved to be spot on.

£55.54m + add-ons and Pochettino Chat

I have also already released the fee agreed for Ryan Sessegnon and his brother Steven.

The fee for Giovani Lo Celso is €68m + bonuses (£61.05m - $76.75m) at this mornings exchange rates.

He cost Real Betis (loan and transfer fee) from PSG a total of €25m
€68 - €25 = €43m
Of that €43m, PSG get 20% of any profit from a sale
20% of €43 = €8.6m
€43 - €8.6 = €34.4m
Nabil Fakir fee €30m

That leaves Real Betis €4.4m in profit after the two deals and they already have an agreement with us to buy Vincent Janssen for €6m (£5.39m - $6.77m) if they decide to take that option up.

Janssen isn't their first choice, just an option they explored in January (that Levy conversation was revealed in its own article) and also when negotiating the sale of Giovani Lo Celso.

So there you have it, you'll have to wait another week yet for a Lo Celso signature and announcement.
