Transfer Talk: Adrien Rabiot and Steven Bergwijn

Steven-Bergwijn

With suitors falling by the wayside due to his huge wage demands, or his mother's huge wage demands and signing on fee, Tottenham have not stopped tracking PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

He wants Between £8.87 million (€10m) and £13.3 million (€15m) wages and an £8.87 million (€10m) signing on fee. That's between £170,577-a-week (€192,373) and £255,769-a-week (€288,451). Not sure whether that is before or after tax.

Arguably the French league is the weakest of the top 5 leagues in Europe although it is second in physicality to the Premier League. With that in mind, Rabiot has had an easy career to date and isn't in the superstar bracket his Mum wants pay for.

He is tracked by A-list sides like Tottenham, Juventus, Barcelona and B-listers like Arsenal, Everton and Real Betis.

Additional news on that story today is that Atlético Madrid are thinking about him as a replacement for Manchester City target Rodri. The Madrid club does not want him to leave but City are prepared to pay his £62.09 million (€70m) release clause, which is a bit cheap by Spanish release clause standards.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are getting closer and closer to signing 21-year-old (22 in October) Dutch international winger Steven Bergwijn.

PSV Eindhoven are still asking for a £35.46 million (40m) transfer fee despite his reportedly lower release clause. He is being tracked by a bunch more clubs, including Ajax, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Napoli.

There are conflicting reports which suggest nobody knows anything and they are all guessing. One report suggests he favours a move to Tottenham, whereas his agent his hinted he would like his client to move to Italy where Inter Milan was then suggested as the preferred destination.
