Spurs Sign 16yo from Celta Vigo
Yago de Santiago confirmed he was leaving the Celta Vigo Academy to join the Tottenham Hotspur Academy on 12 June, his farewell letter is above.
The 16-year-old (17 next January) midfielder is a highly thought of youngster and someone we were keen to bring in.
He came to North London in April to look over the facilities and talk to the club. We were said to have made him an extraordinary offer.
The Ao Contraataque program, by Radio Galega, revealed our interest in back in April and El Desmarque now report the teenage starlet has signed for Spurs.
Celta Vigo made him a counteroffer, Celtic made him an offer as did another Spanish club but he chose Spurs.
This follows the signing of 17-year-old (18 in November) striker Kion Etete from Notts County for around £200,000 earlier this summer.
Websites are telling you about an offer for Elif Elmas of Fenerbache today, the same deal I told you all about on 8 June, some 13 days ago.

We're good at that though. Not only that, when they're trained up here they don't need to spend time later on learning what's particularly expected at Tottenham. It seems to me we have a number of those in the pipeline already, some further advanced than others.
In a way big-money signings are a sign that your preparations are flawed. Not quite as simple as that obviously, but far prefer getting them in early with little fuss so the rest of the world realise only much later how good are some of the deals.
