Spurs Should Have Player Unveilings Like Real Madrid

Real Madrid do unveilings with huge numbers of fans in the stadium, press, TV coverage, it's all news and further promotes the Real Madrid brand worldwide.

A player holding a shirt at the training ground is so out of date it's untrue, it's an element of our operation and promotion that we need to change.

It is something we need to start at Tottenham with the new stadium as a backdrop. It is something we need to start and turn into a tradition, we need to be the first in this country, leading the way with the media again.

It is an occasion where the doors could be open for free with the opportunity for merchandising and ancillary sales as well as corporate events. You could even have the player come into a couple of corporate events, still in his new kit when he has finished on the field and shake a few hands.

He wouldn't have to stay for long but it would add something to any corporate event.

We are moving into a new era with the financial income the stadium now generates. Our profile can only grow and the profile of player we will look to sign in the future will only grow.

If we bought Tanguy N'dombélé, Giovani Lo Celso, Gareth Bale or Bruno Fernandes, why not show them off to fans, have a token signing on the pitch, a bit of ball juggling like Real Madrid do or a penalty shootout, something for the cameras.

It gives them a sense of the stadium and the opportunity for people to attend the stadium who would not normally attend.

Again, my fellow bloggers should be invited along and given access to a member of the coaching staff or a couple of players away from the press, so the club promotes itself through blogs as well as the main media to maximize exposure.

Why not have it sponsored, welcome to the (Brand) Player Unveiling etc.

As ever, I'm full of ideas, some workable, some not, this is, as Real Madrid already do it.
