Five months ago I brought you news of our interest in Elif Elmas of Fenerbache and Julien Weigl of Borussia Dortmund.

Elif Elmas and Julien Weigl

This morning I brought you news of our attempt to sign Elmas, offering Vincent Janssen (who has a loan spell at the Turkish club) plus £10.68 million (€12m) whereas Fenerbache wants Janssen plus £16.02 million (€18m).

Back in January, the Bundesliga side didn't want to let Weigl go because they, like us, had a busy schedule and wanted cover for Axel Witsel should he get injured. It was thought that now they might be prepared to let him go and naturally our name has cropped up.

Whoscored posted a Tweet showing the top 5 pass accuracy from the Top 5 leagues in Europe (Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1)

1. Arthur (Barcelona) 93.5%
2. Toni Kroos (Real Madrid) and Julien Weigl (Borussia Dortmund) 93.2%
4. Adrien Rabiot (PSG) and Axel Witsel (Borussia Dortmund) 93.1%

However, Borussia Dortmund Technical Director Michael Zorc, who played his whole career for the club, has told Funke Sport that the club has no intention of letting the player go. That was in response to reported interest from his former boss and now PSG boss Thomas Tuchel.
