Tottenham to sign Barcelona central midfielder André Gomes, terms agreed
Tottenham have agreed on personal terms with on-loan 25-year-old (26 in July) Everton midfielder André Gomes after a meeting with his agent during the last week.
Tottenham have been meeting his agent and have now agreed on terms for a permanent transfer this summer after gaining Premier League experience at Everton. A report suggests Barcelona are simply awaiting a formal offer which they will accept.
What that means is that the two clubs have already discussed a deal and agreed on a transfer in principle and agreed a figure, if not how that figure will be paid. The fee will be £25.87 million (€30m) including add-ons.
Gomes decided to leave Barcelona last summer, he wasn't getting the game time he wanted and with the Spanish champions telling Frenkie de Jong they will sell two midfielders to make way for him, the Portuguese international (he has 29 caps) central midfielder is one of them.

Incidentally, they also told De Jong that they will do all they can to sign Matthijs de Ligt and a deal with him looks to have been agreed already too.
Gomes has won 9 trophies in his career to date, the European Championships (2016) with Portugal, a LaLiga title (2017/18), 2 Spanish Cups (2016/17, 2017/18), a Spanish Super Cup (2016/17), a Portuguese Primeira Liga title (2013/14), a Portuguese Cup (2014), a Portuguese League Cup (2013/14) and a Portuguese Super Cup in 2014.

He found his game didn't fit Barcelona's style and went on loan to Everton who have a purchase option, however, Spurs have made him a better offer and can offer him UEFA Champions League football too.
Tottenham have done more than just negotiate rough terms, we have thrashed out every detail with his agent and Barcelona are fully aware of the situation. They want the transfer agreed as soon as possible to provide funds for their own transfer activity.
We have been awaiting qualification to next season'sChampions League before buying him and that is all but assured now. We can expect quick movement after the weekend.
Tottenham are also interested in Malcolm, but negotiations are not advanced with him and he has various options abroad too. Not in manager Ernesto Valverde plans, he has indicated he would be willing to move to the Premier League.
