Bergwjin 4th goals/assists in Europe

Steven Bergwjin 4th highest goals/assists in Europe for players 21 and under

News from Voetbal International in Holland is that PSV Eindhoven are expecting Tottenham to make a bid for winger Steven Bergwjin after the UEFA Champions League final.

Players, through their agents, are well aware of who is interested in them and the chances of a move happening. Circumstances are explained and players know a move may happen if clubs can't acquire someone else for instance so can make a choice to wait during a window to see developments.

Other players like to get their futures sorted or if a big club comes in for them to get a deal done. We don't know which scenario fits Bergwjin.

The 21-year-old (22 in October) right-footed inverted left winger can play on the right or centrally. He is a full Dutch international having picked up five caps after playing for the Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 sides.

He scored 15 goals and had 13 assists in 41 games (3,517 minutes). Bergwjin was the only player to complete 100_ dribbles in the Eredivisie this season. He completed 105 out of 166 attempted, had the second highest number of shots, 97 and created 66 chances, the second-highest in the league.

Bergwjin has played 120 games for PSV and scored 25 goals with 28 assists.

Where does the news of this future bid come from? A 'tier one' PSV source apparently.

Bergwjin is another player we have been tracking for a few years and PSV now value him in the £39.70 - £33.11 million (€40-50m) bracket.
