Mauricio Pochettino has taken more points during his time as Tottenham manager and Head Coach than any other boss. A remarkable achievement given our starting point as a perennial Europa League team without a winning mentality.

He gave the 13th debut to an academy player, this time a starting debut to Oliver Skipp (Skippy) and has beaten Arsene Wenger to 100 wins in the Premier League by 10 games.

This season Tottenham Hotspur have had 13 Premier League squad members out injured at one stage or another and still sit 3rd in the league as the top London club.

They took a lot of flack but perhaps the club did the right thing keeping all the players they wanted to keep and not buying just anybody to appease the whining fans. Some people just don't appreciate the importance of gathering a young group and keeping them improving together.

We are winning games through that togetherness, that desire to work together, win together and celebrate together. A collective will always be stronger than individuals.


Onto yesterday and Spurs remains unbeaten against Burnley under Mauricio Pochettino after our late Eriksen winner, a vital time to score your first Premier League goal of the season. We have won 4 games and drawn 2 scoring 10 goals while conceding just 3.

The resting of Son, Eriksen and Winks was no doubt with Arsenal in mind on Wednesday, while Kyle Walker-Peters will also surely feature.

Jan Vertonghen had a thigh injury so was not in the matchday squad allowing !8-year-old (19 next January)Timothy Eyoma to sit on the bench. Eric Dier has had his appendix removed and will be out until he resumes training in January.

Mauricio felt Oliver Skipp played like a 30-year-old and didn't seem to show any nerves. With both Dier, Dembele and Wanyama out he may well be needed again so we can take heart from that performance.

Burnley parked the bus and the method of defeating that is usually to go down the wings, round the back and deliver low balls into the box, not lump long high balls that are usually easily headed away. That is the easiest to defend, yet that is how we scored our winner.

Great credit must go to Fernando Llorente who took two players out of the centre, the ball fell to Dele, onto Kane with back to goal and Eriksen arrived to have a clear chance that he tucked away. It as no more than we deserved, but, we must start to finish better.

Burnley had no shots on target, Lloris had to make no saves and we had 70% possession.

We made it hard for ourselves because we miss too many chances. Lamela had a glorious chance and for a player with an abundance of skill not to be able to control a ball smacks of a lack of concentration at the vital moment. I'm afraid it is something he is consistently guilty of.

Still three points again and we keep marching on. All we can do is keep beating the opponent in front of us.
