Grealish furious as Villa renege on agreement

Villa renege on an agreement to let Grealish leave for £25m |
The ITK
Aston Villa agree with Jack Grealish that is a bid of £25m comes in they will let him leave.
Tottenham negotiated and we eventually agree a fee and medical is arranged. That I reported a couple of weeks ago.
New owners negotiating to take over say if Grealish is sold before they have control they will pull out of buying the club.
They demand more money which we refuse to offer, having already got an agreement and an agreement on a fee in place.
That fee is then officially made and the owners renege on an agreement with Jack Grealish to let him go.
That is where we are at with the situation.
Villa are reneging on agreement and refusing to let him sign for anyone for which he is kicking off by all accounts. He wants to play Premier League football and knows like Saido Berahino, it is a case of now or never to buy him.
he wants to play for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino and hopes he will get him into the England team ahead of the European Championships in two years time.
This could go either way.

Whichever story one wishes to believe I see no reason why any new owners should be obliged to sanction an agreement that was made prior to their ownership unless of course said agreement was contractual.
There's nothing to suggest that the agreement was a personal one between him and the previous owners. If you purchase an enterprise you have to purchase what it is - debts and all. Otherwise no-one could ever negotiate on behalf of a club.
No. Written or otherwise an arrangement that's been made between two parties should always be honoured. I believe it's illegal not to - in spite of the reality being that such law is almost impossible to enforce without a properly signed document.
Anyway, I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

Why add yet another central ATMF with a right foot?
Freakish has managed a career 8 goals and 11 assists in the Championship.
Meanwhile Sessengnon, a leftie who can pretty much play anywhere down the left side has a Championship career total of 20 goals & 9 assists.
Delving further...
Freakish 22 y/o: 8 yellows & 1 yellow/red
Sessegnon 19 y/o: 2 yellows
Given our current squad it seems to me to be a no brainer (don't it Adrian?)...even at double the supposed price of Freakish....
What concerns me more is that nobody else is seriously looking at Freakish.
I don't know enough about how available Sessegnon is ATM. What I've heard is that Fulham don't want to sell him and he's not keen to leave now they're in the Prem.
Honestly, I'd prefer to get Sessegnon - but not £50 for a 19yo. That's too young to have shown reliable consistency for me. Certainly what he's shown to date is very special.
One of the big factors for Grealish, that Clive often comments on, is that he's a home-grown player. That has a lot of impact on his desirability.
At the end of the day, I'm actually happy to let the club sort it out as I'm confident they'll do a great job as they've done many times before. Poch advising and Levy managing the purchase.
I can't deny I'd be well made up to find Sessegnon on our doorstep sometime soon. OTOH Poch obviously sees in Grealish the sort of material we could make much better and work for us.
PS. Am I to understand that I'm a little over fond…
