Italians trying to send us Brozović yet again, Mayrez waits

TRANSFER TALK

The Italian press are always trying to send 24-year-old (25 in November) Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozović to Tottenham and have been writing stories about us supposedly wanting to buy the Croatian international midfielder from the day Inter signed him permanently 2 years ago, and yesterday they cane up with yet another unbelievable one.

A swap deal involving Moussa Sissoko where we then demand £30 million (€32.63m - AUS$49.12m - US$38.76m) for him next summer. That is undoubtedly complete rubbish. Given Sissoko won't hit his add-on targets, they won't be payable so he won't cost £30 million for a start and given we pay an annual fee for him, not a set £30 million, we can happily sell him for less so he can get the wages he wants, which Inter wouldn't pay anyway.

Riyad Mahrez has been wanting to lave Leicester City for the last couple of years but nobody has been prepared to pay the asking price. Now it seems he may finally get his wish. He has been given leave from the Algerian squad to finalise a transfer and has flown to Paris where he is waiting for one of three clubs, at the moment anyway, to conclude a deal with the former Premier League champions, either  Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona or Chelsea.

A Tweet from a freelance journalist who used to work for ESPN suggests Mahrez has now flown to London, but that hasn't been conformed, while another suggests he will be signing for Chelsea later today, when else!
