O Jogo suggest Carvalho to replace £75m Dier

TRANSFER TALK
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo have invented a story about Tottenham being interested in 25-year-old (26 next April) Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho as a replacement for Eric Dier.
Clearly they have taken stories of Manchester United's desire to sign Dier and not understanding he isn't for sale at any price, have come up with this story in the belief it could therefore have some credibility.
He plays as a defensive midfielder who drops back to play as a centre-back. He has a £39.37 million (€45m - AUS$65.88m - US$51.85m) release clause, which is set to expire in 2020. It is reported they would be willing to let him go for £26.25 million (€30m - AUS$43.92m - US$34.57m).
The only way the 23-year-old (24 next January) versatile Dier will be allowed to leave Spurs, is if he forces through a move himself and that looks highly unlikely. He has a contract until 2021 and thus is at maximum market value. The CIES Football Observatory suggest this makes him the 21st moist expensive player in Europe to buy at £74.89 million (€85m - AUS$125.36m - US$96.94m).

We'll do some business, which may or may not be viewed as 'exciting' but it'll be what the coach wants and what he feels we need - without blocking the path of academy players to our first team.
Can't wait for Sept 1st.
"We are no longer a selling club".
"We don't sell to our direct rivals any more".
If Levy had been on the apprentice then he would have been sacked in episode 1. Still who needs evidence when you have propaganda?
