U20 World Cup Final England 1 Venezuela 0

England too on Venezuela in the final of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, the first FIFA final England have been in for 51 years. Tottenham were represented by Kyle Walker-Peters (left-back) and Josh Onomah who were both named in the starting XI.

There were video assistant refereers at the tournament but Onomah was still sent off in the quarter final for completely accidentally standing on an opponents ankle while dribbling past him. He missed the semi final win as a result.

Josh Onomah a great run from defensive midfield past several players to 25 yards from goal and with three players attracted to him, flicked the ball square to Solanke to shoot wide.

He started in a Mousa Dembele role, defensive midfield collecting the ball and running at the opposition.

After 16 minutes he made a poor defensive header backwards and then was slow closing down a player 25 yards from goal allowing him a free shot. Venezuela saw the danger of Onomah going forward and changed tactics to stop him, instead allowing the two centre-backs to have the ball uncontested, where before they were being pressurised.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Everton striker, put England ahead after 35 minutes and the score remain 1-0 at half-time.
