Shirt sponsor will remain as AIA until 2022

Tottenham Hotspur are on an end of season trip to Asia. Four players went to Seoul, South Korea, including national hero Son Heung-mi.

The24-year-old (25 in July) South Korean international is not only the most expensive Asian player in history but has scored more goals in a Premier League season than any other Asian player.

Son Heung-min set a new scoring record for a Korean player in a European season and became the first Asian player to win Player of the Month in the Premier League. Not content with that he won it a second time.

He was a player Pochettino didn't want to lose after his first season which showed glimpses of his ability but inconsistency as he adapted and married his game with the Pochettino system. he misses a few but then scores some belters that to his intelligent running off the ball in behind defenders. With both he and Dele Alli making those runs it is a nightmare for defences.

They have joined the rest of the squad who have flown to Hong Kong, met with our shirt sponsors, Asian company AIA and their customers before a new shirt deal was signed with them, extending the arrangement until 2022.

The original agreement was a £16 million a year deal and the new agreement will be an increase on that, although the figure has not been released.
