Rodriguez talking with Saints, Spurs waiting the outcome |
The Sun are reporting that Spurs may make a deadline day move for Southampton wide man Jay Rodriguez who we tried to sign before he suffered his long-term injury.
There were plenty of suggestions that we were prepared to buy him with the injury, but obviously at a much lower fee that Southampton reportedly rejected.
The paper suggests that 27-year-old (28 in July) Jay Rodriguez is having talks over his future with the club and the result of those talks will determine whether Spurs make a late move for him or not.
Southampton have agreed a £14-million (€16.23m- AUS$23.06m - US$17.45m) deal for 25-year-old (26 in November) Italian international striker Manolo Gabbiadini and may be willing to let Rodriguez leave with WBA having tabled a £10-million bid (€11.59m- AUS$16.47m - US$12.46m).
He has 4 goals in 14 games, although that is only 620 Premier League minutes this season, approx 7 full games). Last season he played just 345 Premier League minutes and didn't score or create an assist.
