Perryman: Spurs are close to 10 out of 10

Growing up I was fortunate enough to watch the dependable Steve Perryman MBE a lot. he switched from midfield and played at the centre of our defence, amassing in total a record 866 first team appearances.

He was capped once by England, 17 times by England C and in 1982 voted by the Football Writers' Association as Footballer of the Year.

He has been speaking to the Hertfordshire Mercury and has asked supporters to keep up the great work and discussed Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino.

"Well done to you supporters, keep that great support you give to this team and this club, it makes it very special.

"Spurs have got quality, passion and drive and they've got the manager that looks like he's on top of them, I think he's got them where he wants them.
"That's a hell of a cocktail of assets that they've got. When you're meeting anyone there's some judgement columns to be filled. The pace of a team, height or organisation of a team, the passion, and you have to say that the better team you are, for instance Man City are as close to ten as you'll get in all those aspects.
"You've got to say on the evidence of Sunday, although it was a one-off game, that they are as close to ten out of ten at most of those things as you can get."

There is no doubt the Manchester City performance was a joy to behold. We need to maintain the mentality we had in that game and take that into the WBA encounter this weekend.
