Squad announced - Pochettino to assess players

As previously reported Mauricio Pochettino wants to have a look at some of the players in pre-season with a view to confirming their future, be it with Sours or away from Spurs,

The squad for the Australia tour reflects that. In previous tours, Pochettino has often started with a strong team and brought the youngsters on to close out a game while the opposition are making every effort to get an equalizer or a winner. That adds to the pressure they have to handle.

There are plenty of youngsters to have a look at, Cameron Carter-Peters as the possible back-up to Toby Alderweireld will have to be assessed, Dominic Ball we already know will be assessed, exciting prospect Marcus Edwards will see some first-team action for the first time. Harry Winks needs to show he has developed over the last year and DeAndre Yedlin can show what he has learnt under Sam Allardyce a Sunderland.
