Spurs Taking A Close Look At 18yo Central Midfielder

The NextGen Series this weekend, 14th-16th May, sees the Under-19 sides of Eredivisie champions PSV, runners-up Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur, Turkish side Galatasaray, South African side Ajax Cape Town, Spanish giants Barcelona, ASA United FC of the national Capital Soccer League, Washington USA and African football academy Right To Dream.

Tottenham are in Group B with PSV, Ajax Cape Town and Right To Dream.

Ipswich Town finished seventh in the Championship this season and missed out on the play-offs for the Premier League. That may have a bearing on18-year-old (19 in October)  Kundai Benyu being named in the Tottenham squad for the NextGen series.

The highly-rated teenager signed aa new two-and-a-half-year r contract at the beginning of last year so has one year remaining. The English central midfielder has been training and travelling with the first-team squad while progressing with their Under-21 side.

Clearly this tournament is an opportunity for us to look at him at close quarters. One for the future? We'll have to wait and see.
