Townsend and Dembele

I read from a Newcastle website that they think Daniel Levy must relent and allow a loan with an option to buy but there is no benefit to Spurs in that so they have naturally looked at the deal from their point of view.

I have heard from several sources over the last few days that we have received an offer of £14-million for him. What nobody can confirm though is who it is from, the assumption in Newcastle United, but there is no confirmation of that.

His departure has no bearing on whether we buy a striker or not, if we can do a deal we will. To that end we are talking with several players agents including Saido Berahino and Moussa Dembele at Fulham. We have made a verbal offer for the WBA striker and won't be drawn into paying over the odds.

The news is that a deal isn't looking promising at the moment so attentions elsewhere have been stepped up. The favourite now is the Fulham striker with a deal said to be close.

I also see reports that WBA are open to selling Berahino for less to Newcastle than they are demanding we pay, which clearly demonstrates ego has got in the way, thank goodness we don't have Jeremy Peace destroying our club just to satisfy his ego.

Try and force a player where he doesn't want to go but don't sell to th club he does want to go to for th same money, stupid, utterly stupid, no way to conduct a successful business which explains why we are where we are and they are where they are.
