Spurs make offer for Algerian winger

The scouting for Rob MacKensie goes on after five games in three countries in four days he now has six games in three days.

A scouting first for me this Fri-Sun. 6 games scheduled; different countries, different competitions, different challenges. Context is King.

It is one aspect of the club that has improved since Paul Mitchell came to the club. he has had to set up a scouting network almost from scratch. We now rely a lot more on our own scouting rather than the agency scouting that was rumoured to be the source of Paulinho.

We now have a couple of scouts covering the Iberia region (Spain and Portugal) and a 25-year-old (26 in December) Valencia player has been identified. Sofaine Feghouli is a dual-footed Algerian who plays as a right-sided attacking midfielder. His contract with Valencia runs out in the summer and he has received a contract extension offer.

Plaza Deportiva report that he has also received offers from Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, Roma and Fenerbache. They say he wants a 2.5m EUR (£1.84m) salary which equates to £35,384 per week. Valencia are trying to reduce that without success so far, financially we can compete, Whether we sign him or not will be down to the players wishes.
