Officially Harry Kane isn't out of form

A study of the official EA Sports Premier League rankings would suggest a different story to the one Spurs fans are seeing. It is accepted that Harry Kane is out of form, he isn't scoring the goals of last season which some I see want to suggest is because he is just average.

No doubt these people are members of the anti-Levy cluster who crave failure to justify the losing mentality they adopt. We who prefer to adopt a winning mentality approach see it as everyone in the game is seeing it, that he is a quality forward not scoring. I have no doubt that is down to fatigue and Pochettino's mistake in not giving him a rest or insisting we have a striker in early.

The official statistics would suggest that he is not out of form though, his overall ranking rose again this week from 58 into the Top 50 at 44. Despite not scoring the official rankings feel he had a good game, indeed he was ranked the 33rd best player in the Premier League.

Below are the rankings for the Spurs players just for Week 8, for some reason Clinton Njie doesn't seem to appear.

Official Spurs Rankings for Week 8

2 Christian Eriksen
33 Harry Kane
46 Nacer Chadli
52 Andros Townsend
55 Dele Alli
120 Toby Alderweireld
122 Kyle Walker
124 Ben Davies
155 Eric Dier
159 Jan Vertonghen
173 Hugo Lloris
188 Erik Lamela
235 Mousa Dembele

Is Harry Kane in better form than we are giving him credit for? If you were ranking the Spurs players in order of performance against Swansea would they be in the same order as the Official Premier League Player Rankings? No doubt Eriksen would be top, but was Harry Kane our second best player?
