The Under-18 side kept their first clean sheet of the season on Saturday when our lads beat Norwich City 3-0 thanks to a Ryan Loft hat-trick. The official website has a report and comments from the Inder-18 coach Kieran McKenna.
TalkSPORT suggests fans agree with me and don't want Victor Wanyama in January. According to them it is because we have Eric Dier doing an equally as good job, for me Wanyama lacks vision, he doesn't look around him enough, therefore doesn't know instantly where his teammates are and is too slow therefore to decide who to pass the ball to. That is not in keeping with our game and there are better options.
Jan Vertonghen reveals he has been carrying an ankle injury for over a year and now it has finally cleared up it has helped him regain th form he showed when he first joined us, he has even started to venture forward again occasionally in the last couple of games. You can read the full article in the Evening Standard.
As expected Dele Alli was brought on as a late substitute to tie him to England for the future and putting to bed the efforts of Nigeria to convince him to play for them. It was patently obvious what was happening which made it baffling why Stuart Pearce and Jamie Carragher couldn't see what was going on.
Roy Hodgson has made it clear he will now probably return to the Undre-21 side. Undre-21 games are not senior competitive fixtures and it is only competitive senior fixtures that tie a player to a country, that's why Brazilian international Costa (the Chelsea striker) was playing for Brazil in full internationals January, yet by November was apparently Spanish, simply because he had spend a few years of his career there. He then went to the World Cup with Spain yet has no Spanish in his family. Where you choose to live should be irrelevant to your nationality.
