Kane nominated for Ballon d'Or

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have both made the initial list for the coveted Ballon d'Or, the trophy that goes to the world's best footballer each year.
Incredibly some 'Designer Lebel' Spurs fans complained when Spurs signed Son Heung-min because for them he wasn't a household name and thus not good enough, FIFA, however, think he is among the best 59 footballers in the world.
In an exclusive Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have got hold of and leaked the FIFA list for the annual award that Lionel Messi is the favourite to win. The list has been sent to the FIFA football committee, strangely chaired bu UEFA President Michel Platini, to be whittled down to 23. The initial list includes 7 Barcelona players, 7 from Real Madrid and 6 from UEFA Champions League finalists Juventus.
Having 2 niminees shows Tottenham are taking steps in the right direction and is a further sign of encouragement and vindication of the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino. Harry Kane had a standout year that Europe took note of and we have to worry about fatigue with him.
With the European Under-21 Championships last summer he needed a rest, which is why I felt he and five others would miss the start of the season. He didn't get that rest and we are paying the cost right now with performances that suggest he is out of form and some that suggest he is tired.
Next summer is the European Championships where he is expected to feature again so we have to be mindful of giving him 3 seasons of constant football. He needs to be rested as much as possible and I certainly wouldn't have played him last night, but given Clinton Njie more chance to get up to speed with us.

Premier League is more important and is mentally tough
We should have beaten Monaco clinical finishing letting us down again
