Lazio chase Adebayor

News arrives from Italy that once again Lazio chase Adebayor. They and other Italian clubs have done so before smelling a bargain but each time wages are the issue, he just isn't worth what he thinks he is.

How can you command £100,000-a-week when you don't score goals, you don't play, you aren't fit, you have issues of the field, you will only perform if it suits you. I struggle to fathom what planet he is on at times.

The one thing Lazio can be certain of is that he is cheap, we'll give him away to get rid of him if we have to. With a year left on his contract any club would be mad to buy him, a season-long loan as I wrote at the start of the window is the only realistic option and as expected it is the last days  that will see it happen, and so it comes to pass.

The current situation was patently obvious, who is going to pay his wages before they have to, we want them entirely off our books if at all possible, quite why West Ham fans think we should do them a favour and pay his wages for them I don't know, they actually have the cheek to complain we are asking them to pay his wages.

Bayer Leverkusen have made an offer for 20-year-old forward Keita Baldé Diao to replace Spurs new signing Son Heung-min. The German side have offered £8.72-million (€12m), but Lazio want in access of £14.52-million (€20m). Should they come to an agreement then a replacement will need to be found and Emmanuel Adebayor is on their list of potential replacements.

CONTACT - Lazio President Claudio Lotito has contacted Tottenham to inquire about the striker and the Italian press report that we are even willing to sell him for free. They speculate that if this transfer comes off it could be a last-minute deal as the window closes.

Perhaps the Italian press are assuming he will be flexible over wages, perhaps they have forgotten how much he is on, either way, if he wants to play he'll have to take a pay cut for a sale. It's much more likely a loan deal will be done.

Aston Villa still haven't given up, their offer is on the table should he change his mind, West Ham will have to pay 100% of his wages, they will hope to negotiate that down, but I can't see us letting them have him for 50%, no point strengthening a rival and he would strengthen them, he'd be motivated to play for a contract.

The news that Lazio chase Adebayor possible means that if he goes abroad we would pay part of his wages.
