£3m German just speculation at the moment

Another German we have not heard too much about is on our radar according to the German press and with ITK early in the window suggesting we may be getting a couple from the Bundesliga in addition to Kevin Wimmer, the story may have some truth to it.
A German blog is reporting that 23-year-old (24 in September) Kevin Vogt is a defensive midfielder with Koln, some may know the club as Cologne. There was a race for his signature last summer which Koln won beating Stoke City, Leicester City, Hull City, Aston Villa and Southampton among others.
He has been playing in the Bundesliga since 2012/13 season when he joined newly-promoted Augsburg before moving to Koln in May of last year after 56 league games in 2 seasons. Vogt was a big presence for Augsburg and was highly-regarded, he was offered and signed a contract until 2017 with Koln.
He has played for Germany at U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels and would add height to the defensive midfield position being 1.94m (6ft 4 1⁄2in) tall. Pochettino likes his players to stay on their feet rather than the Scotty Parker dive into tackles approach and Vogt is a player who does just that. He can play as the more attacking of the two defensive midfielders as well, having an eye for a through ball.
He missed one Bundesliga game through suspension and sat on the bench for the last game, apart from that he played virtually every minute of the season. His agent was asked about the speculation and he was non-committal, standard practice in ant transfer involving Tottenham as we tell all sides not to leak information.
Other reports from Germany suggest we are not the only club interested and his value could be around the £3-million (€4.27m) mark. Fan reports say he is a decent player but nothing special, but then many fans only see eye-catching play and miss all the donkey work.
Vogt scored a headed goal in a pre-season friendly yesterday which suggests there is no deal imminent or he wouldn't have played. It would seem to be just speculation at this stage.

"We do not participate in these speculations. Kevin's focus is currently only on the situation at FC [Koln]. Everything else currently does not matter."
