Townsend to miss Man U, Mason to be fit

Both Andros Townsend and Ryan Mason are injured with one likely to make the start of the season and one not.

Andros Townsend is the unfortunate one with a shoulder injury he picked up in a behind closed doors training game against Reading. that rules him out for 2-3 weeks with the season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford just 11 days away. He didn't travel with the squad to the States but has stayed at Hotspur Way for treatment.

Ryan Mason has a knee injury but is expected to be ready for the start of the season.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches, Aaron Lennon all didn't travel for the MLS All-Star game. Mauricio Pochettino doesn't want Adebayor or Lennon anywhere near the squad and we don't want them getting injured to prevent them leaving either. Vlad Chiriches is negotiating a move to Napoli and could be gone this week while Roberto Soldado is waiting on the striker situation at Tottenham to be resolved. We also don't want him getting injured should we manage to shift Adebayor and line up replacements if that happens he wants a move to Villarreal.

The four part Pochettino interview series continues at 9pm GMT tonight with Part 2.
